Donna Summer - Hot Stuff, Bad Girl Medley (Casablanca Records 1979)

11:47
"Hot Stuff" is a hit single released by American singer Donna Summer in 1979 as the first single release from her Bad Girls album through Casablanca Records. Up to that point, Summer had mainly been associated with disco songs but this song also showed significant rock influences including a guitar solo by ex-Doobie Brother and Steely Dan guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. "Bad Girls" is a 1979 single released by American singer Donna Summer, co-written by Summer and the Brooklyn Dreams. The inspiration for her to write the song came after one of her assistants was offended by a police officer who thought she was a street prostitute. A rough version of the song had originally been written a couple of years before its release. Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, upon hearing it, wanted Donna to give it to Cher for her upcoming album. Donna refused and put it away for a couple of years. The song became a number-one hit on the Billboard pop, R&B and dance singles charts simultaneously becoming, alongside "Hot Stuff", her most successful single. The song helped the album of the same name to reach the multi-platinum status in the United States. A 12" single of the song was released as a medley with "Hot Stuff". Although "Hot Stuff" was extended for the 12" single, "Bad Girls" remained in the 4:55 album version. A "Bad Girls" 12" single with a time of 6:55 was produced but never released commercially. A demo version of the song was released on the "Deluxe Edition" of the "Bad Girls" CD. Bad Girls became the best-selling album of Summer's career, achieving double platinum sales certification in the United States. LaDonna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012), known by her stage name Donna Summer, was an American singer, songwriter, and painter. She gained prominence during the disco era of the late-1970s. A five-time Grammy Award winner, she was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach No. 1 on the United States Billboard album chart and charted four number-one singles in the U.S. within a 12-month period. Summer has reportedly sold over 140 million records, making her one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. While influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s, she became the front singer of a psychedelic rock band named Crow and moved to New York City. Joining a touring version of the musical Hair, she left New York and spent several years living, acting, and singing in Europe, where she met music producers, Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte. Summer returned to the U.S., in 1975 with commercial success of the song 'Love to Love You Baby', followed by a string of other hits, such as "I Feel Love", "Last Dance", "MacArthur Park", "Heaven Knows", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", "Dim All the Lights", "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" (duet with Barbra Streisand), and "On the Radio". She became known as the "Queen of Disco", while her music gained a global following. Summer died on May 17, 2012, at her home in Naples, Florida. In her obituary in The Times, she was described as the "undisputed queen of the Seventies disco boom" who reached the status of "one of the world's leading female singers." Moroder described Summer's work with him on the song 'I Feel Love' as "really the start of electronic dance" music. In 2013, Summer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Donna Summer-Lucky-Giorgio Moroder Edit - 1979 from the "BaD GirlS" album

04:41
From the Great "Bad Girls" 1979 produced by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte. This is one of my favourites songs of all time:-))) of course I have a few other thousand songs that are between my favourites;-) Donna sings this beautiful haunting Electro/Pop/Dance with her amazing falseto voice. Enjoy this great track:-) To BETO:-) Scared and lonely Going out for the night Shaking all over And wishing I'd never come here He pulled up in a cloud of smoke So much was said But nobody spoke a word So I took a chance And he followed me home I knew he wouldn't beg So I gave in without fighting Been so long since I've been this way Since I loved this way So I asked him if he would stay for a while Chorus Lucky comes easy Lucky's not shy And if you're lucky You'll go for a ride For a ride We talked a while And he told me his life We laughed and we cried and I knew that I could love him He got up to say good by I said where you going, He said that he must leave Chorus Lucky takes you out for a ride For a ride (twice)

Donna Summer ♫ Hot Stuff Ⓞ Bad Girls 【1979】

04:02

The Man that Nobody Knows". Obtuvo cinco premios Grammy con los temas "Thank God, it''s Friday" (1977), "Hot Stuff" (1979), "She Works Hard for the Money" (1984), "Forgive me" (1985) y "Carry on" (1997).
