Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest. Before the industrial revolution, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. Fitness is defined as the quality or state of being fit. Around 1950, perhaps consistent with the Industrial Revolution and the treatise of World War II, the term "fitness" increased in western vernacular by a factor of ten. Modern definition of fitness describe either a person or machine's ability to perform a specific function or a holistic definition of human adaptability to cope with various situations. This has led to an interrelation of human fitness and attractiveness which has mobilized global fitness and fitness equipment industries. Regarding specific function, fitness is attributed to person who possess significant aerobic or anaerobic ability, i.e. strength or endurance. A holistic definition of fitness is described by Greg Glassman in the CrossFit journal as an increased work capacity across broad times and modal domains; mastery of several attributes of fitness including strength, endurance, power, speed, balance and coordination and being able to improve the amount of work done in a given time with any of these domains. A well rounded fitness program will improve a person in all aspects of fitness, rather than one, such as only cardio/respiratory endurance or only weight training. A comprehensive fitness program tailored to an individual typically focuses on one or more specific skills, and on age- or health-related needs such as bone health. Many sources also cite mental, social and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three points, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Physical fitness can also prevent or treat many chronic health conditions brought on by unhealthy lifestyle or aging. Working out can also help some people sleep better and possibly alleviate some mood disorders in certain individuals. Developing research has demonstrated that many of the benefits of exercise are mediated through the role of skeletal muscle as an endocrine organ. That is, contracting muscles release multiple substances known as myokines which promote the growth of new tissue, tissue repair, and various anti-inflammatory functions, which in turn reduce the risk of developing various inflammatory diseases.

The problem is that they wind up doing hours of the wrong types of biceps exercises, the wrong biceps workouts, and sometimes even neglect just how important the triceps are to adding size to the arms. Well, in this video, I'm going to show you that it is possible to get big arms much faster by including a couple of the right biceps exercises and triceps exercises into your arm workouts. To begin with, in order to get the biceps to peak more you will want to work on the long head of the biceps since it is largely responsible for the biceps peak. The long head of the biceps can be stimulated more with biceps exercises that start with the arm in an extended position behind the body. You can do this with an incline biceps curl, but you won't be able to lift as much weight as you can on the biceps exercise that I show you here. Next you'll want to work on specific triceps exercises when trying to get much bigger arms a lot faster. Since the triceps muscle accounts for roughly two thirds of the mass of the arm you'll want to make sure you train them in every complete arm workout. The triceps exercise shown here will help you to get big arms much faster because it hits the long head of the triceps more - which makes up the bulk of the triceps muscle. By putting the triceps on a bigger stretch, you'll be able to handle more weight and get a stronger contraction - allowing you to get big arms much faster than with typical triceps workouts. How to Get Big Arms - MUCH FASTER!! (Triceps and Biceps) Once you start to see just how much you can lift on these arm exercises and the results you will start to see from doing them, you'll realize just how fast you can build big arms. If your main goal is to burn fat, many traditional exercises and training styles may not be the best route for you. Typically when I'm at the gym and I look around I see a bunch of people doing exercises that don't really match up with their goals. If you're trying to get some bigger biceps you shouldn't be on the eliptical doing hours of cardio and conversely if you're trying to lose some weight and burn some belly fat you shouldn't be smashing out set after set of bicep curls. Exercises and training styles are like tools and before you just assume that watching one or two rocky movies is all the knowledge you need on exercising let's make sure that you've chosen the right tool for the job or I should for your goal. If your goal is to lose belly fat I hate to break it to you, but there is no exercise that can directly target the fat on your belly, but there are plenty of exercise methods that can indirectly burn the fat from your belly, and in this video I'll be going over ten of these methods....These training methods will help you burn more fat during & after your workout. Let's start with the very first one & that's peripheral heart action training. This is my favorite way to do all my weight training workouts, and I highly suggest that if you're trying to lose some belly fat you incorporate this style of training right away. In general your workouts for the week should be a mixture of some more aerobic & some more anaerobic workouts, meaning some of them will be geared more towards lifting heavy weights & others should be geared towards improving your cardiovascular function. But what you'll notice is that during your heavy weight training days, you wind up taking longer breaks & not breathing quite as heavy. Sometimes after some weight training workouts besides the soreness that you might feel in your muscles you may not feel like you worked out at all. So that's where peripheral heart action training comes into play. It helps incorporate an element of cardio into your weight training workout without you having to sacrifice the amount of weight your lifting. So you won't get weaker, but you'll be able to burn much more calories & accomplish much more in a shorter period of time. The best way to do this is by combining an upper body & a lower body movement into one set. For example you can combine a bench press with a squat. So you would do six to eight reps on the bench press & then right away with no break you would do squats for six to eight reps. You would perform both of these exercises with a heavy weight load & you would only take a break after completing both of them. With peripheral heart action training what you're doing is taking the blood that your heart would normally just have to pump to your chest & arms if you were just doing bench press by itself & what your doing is your forcing your body to pull & pump all that blood back down to your legs right after your set of bench without any break or recovery. This makes your heart work much harder allowing you to get your heart rate & breathing rate higher & this will burn more calories & fat in the process. Now let's say that you don't want to work legs & upper body in the same day you want to focus on each on separate days. Well the good news is that peripheral heart action training doesn't only work only if you combine an upper & a lower body movement. It'll also work if you combine two movements that work opposing muscle groups. For example if you combine chest & back movements together with no break. Or if you do quad & hamstring movements together with no break your heart will still have to work much harder to push the blood from the anterior part of your body to the posterior part of your body. So peripheral heart action training try it out. The second exercise style that can help you burn a lot more belly fat is known as cardio acceleration training. We actually have a whole hour long class at our gyms dedicated to this type of training because it's so effective. Once again it involves super setting two exercises. Except this time instead of doing two weight training exercises back to back we're combining a weight training exercise with a cardio exercise with no break. So an example of this would be to perform a set of barbell squats with heavy weight for let's say six to ten reps & then immediately with no break once you rack the bar you go right into high knees for thirty to forty five seconds. Then take a break & repeat for three to four sets

Burn Fat and Build Athletic Muscle at Home - http://athleanx.com/x/home-workout If you want to burn chest fat in order to get rid of a flabby chest, you are going to have to address this problem two ways. First, you must be willing to get your nutrition in order. You simply cannot eat poorly and maintain high body fat levels because of this and hope to ever get rid of your fat chest. Once you have, then all the focus needs to turn towards your training. In this video, I show you a chest exercise combo that you can do in the privacy of your own home to help you burn fat and build a bigger chest. The power of this combination exercise lies in the fact that it can be used to overload your pec muscles while helping you to burn fat as a powerful conditioning exercise. I show you both beginner and advanced versions of this. First, let’s cover the more difficult of the two. To perform this chest and fat burning exercise, set up two benches if you are training at a gym or two boxes if you are working out at home. Get into a push up position between the boxes and perform an explosive plyo pushup while touching both benches with your hands at the top. Land back on the ground and come up to your feet by reversing the burpee position. From here, immediately jump laterally over the bench to your right and drop down into a pushup plank position again. Here you will perform a Hannibal pushup by quickly touching your toes as you hop out of another explosive pushup. Jump back to your feet and leap back to the middle to once again do the taps version of the exercise. Hop the bench on the other side and do the Hannibal pushups again and continue until your chest is either too fatigued to continue or your lungs are burning because of your conditioning. The beginner version of this bodyweight exercise to burn chest fat at home is very similar except that you will perform the first exercise from your knees. The perimeter chest exercise is to simply pulse at the bottom of the pushup for 3 reps and then hop back to your feet. Do not try to jump over the bench or box but rather perform a box jump to the top and then simply jump down. Bodyweight exercises for your chest should consist of more than just pushups. If you are going to do a bodyweight exercise to build your chest then you better make sure that it is causing overload. Far too many home chest workouts fall short in delivering results because they consist of exercises that are just too easy. Some will swear by 6 meals a day, others by intermittent fasting, others by keto, etc. Honestly, I don’t care which it is that you follow but you better make sure that whatever you choose it is something that allows you to be consistent with it for the long term. Too many diet plans for 6 pack abs wind up being temporary. You lose weight and body fat enough so that you can see the lower abs for a short period of time but wind up putting it all back on because the diet is not something you can stick with. Don’t let that happen to you. Find something that you can enjoy and you will have found your lower abs for life. Next, we have to address the common mistakes made in how we perform our ab exercises. While the rectus abdominus is a single muscle that contracts all or none, you cannot simply perform top down ab exercises like crunches and expect to get the same level of development as if you performed lower ab exercises. Lower ab exercises are those that move from the bottom up. The key to these exercises is that the added weight of the legs that needs to be overcome on each rep is enough to provide an overload and a stimulation of the type II fibers of the abdominals. When these are activated and trained, the abs will hypertrophy a bit and stand out more making them more visible when body fat levels are low. This leads to the next big ab training mistake however. You have to make sure that you don’t confuse simply moving your legs with effective targeting of the lower abs. In order to train the lower ab muscles the right way you need to focus on moving the pelvis rather than the legs. When the pelvis moves, the legs will come along for the ride naturally due to their connection at the hip joint. Regardless of whether you are doing hanging ab raises or lower ab exercises on the floor, the same key applies. Be sure to posteriorly rotate your pelvis in order to activate the lower abs and stop focusing on simply raising and lowering the legs which is more of a hip flexor dominant movement. Finally, you will want to expand your understanding of the core if you want to get your lower abs to show better. This means, looking to stabilize the pelvis from below by contracting the adductors on every rep of every exercise you can for your bottom most abs. This means just crossing your legs and squeezing them together at the knees on most hanging or seated ab exercises. So here is the blueprint to getting awesome abs. Start Losing Your Belly Fat Fast: http://go.sixpackshortcuts.com/never47a1 Hey, everybody. Mark Mcilyar here today to show you one of my favorite at-home exercises I have my beginners doing... Right in their living rooms! First and foremost, make sure you have a sufficient amount of space. You don't need a ton of it, just put your arms extended all the way out to each side, do a 360-degree spin, and make sure nothing in that area is going to get in the way. We will be doing a total of 5 different exercises, all back-to-back with no rest until you finish the first round of all 5 movements.Now, let's get going: 0:39 - Elevated Pushups for 10 reps: Remember that these movements are for beginners. That means if you aren't able to fully complete a set of pushups with proper form - back flat, on your toes, arms holding you up and at a shoulder's width - on the ground, then find an elevated surface to workout with. The higher the surface - my coffee table for example, the easier it's going to be for you to do the move. 1:32 - Air Squats for 10 reps: With your feet just about at a shoulder's width apart, you'll essentially be performing a movement identical to sitting down. Here's the kicker - keep your arms forward and out like I am to keep your back straight, remembering to drop down into the squat until your quads hit parallel or if not as low as your mobility allows. 2:13 - Lying Leg Lifts for 10 reps: Lay flat on your back and place your hands underneath your butt. With your legs together or at most a hip's width apart and your legs locked with a slight bend at the knee, lift your legs off the ground and drive your knees up to become parallel with your hips. 2:47 - Donkey Kicks for 10 reps on each leg: Kneel down on your knees and have your hands in a pushup position - shoulder's width apart and at chest level. From this starting point, you will lift one leg up, keeping the leg you ar moving in a locked position and driving your leg up by focusing on your heel going towards the ceiling. Once you finish one leg, make sure to alternate to the next. 3:34 - Knee Pushups for 10 reps: Another pushup variation, only we are taking the pressure off of staying in a plank position, and you will do the pushups from the same start position as you doing the donkey kicks. There you have it. Do all 5 movements back-to-back and after you finish the round with Knee Pushups, take about a 45 second to 1-minute break. Complete a total of 3 rounds for a complete, bodyweight home workout in as little as 7 minutes. To all the beginners looking to get started working out to lose their belly fat and get in shape: It's only 7 minutes out of your day! Start out just doing this maybe 2 or 3 times a week, and as you get into the swing of things, increase it to 3 or 4. You might feel it in your lower back or your shoulder but you find yourself thinking did I do something wrong or does this exercise just suck. Well it really isn't always you. There are a lot of exercises out there that are plain bad for you & they only continue to exist just because they've been passed down from one misinformed gym to the next, & noones been smart enough to realize that these common exercises are no good. So today we're going over 10 exercises that all men should avoid & these exercises aren't only exclusive to men. Women should avoid these exercises as well it's just that in this video we'll be sticking to exercises that i usually find men doing wrong. The very first one that I want to start with is actually a group of exercises that guys are drawn to like moths to a flame. I'm talking about all the selectorizor ab machines at your local gym. The machines that you usually start by sitting down pulling out the pin, selecting your weight, then grabing some handles behind your head & doing crunches. These machines are not only a waste of time but they are also dangerous for your lower back. All these selectorizor ab machines are locked into a range of motion, meaning that your joints & your disks can't travel down their natural path, you can only travel down the path that the machine has set for you. Even if you adjust the machine to your body perfectly, which by the way is very hard to do, but even if you somehow had a machine customized for your body you can still easily run into lower back issues because you're still locked in a set range of motion throughout the entire exercise. Besides a greater potential for a lower back injury you will also get significantly less results from these machines than if you stuck to regular ab exercises like crunches, hanging knee tucks, & declined situps. The reason is once again due to the fact that your locked into a range of motion. The core's main responsibility is stabilization. And it's important to improve your functional core strength because your core isn't only responsible for stabilizing your trunk but it stabilizes your whole body. It is the bridge that connects your lower body to your upper body. When you're locked in a range of motion you take all of the stabilization normally required for ab exercises out of the movement. The really ironic part is that those abdominal stabilizer muscles that you're not working on these machines are very important to strengthen in order to prevent the lower back injury that you'll likely experience on one of these machines. Due to the fact that you're not working your stabilizers you're missing out on all of those deep tissue abdominal muscles like your transverse abdominus & your only targeting mostly your rectus abdominus which is the very outer layer six pack looking muscle. The transverse abdominus is very important to work because not only does it help prevent injury, but it also pulls your stomach in keeping everything nice & tight giving you that flat stomach look. If you want to make your ab exercises tougher use weights by simply holding a dumbbell or a plate either behind your head or accross your chest while doing regular traditional ab exercises. Once again if you don't know where to start start with exercises like stability ball crunches, declined situps, & hanging knee tucks. The next exercise you should avoid is the behind the head shoulder press. First off there is absolutely no advantage to going behind your head. None. Even though I'm sure some old school guys will be disagreeing with me in the comments below you can research this yourself & you'll find that when you go behind the head you're still targeting the same muscles that you would if you went in front of your head & there's no advantage when going behind your head that will allow you to build your shoulder muscle faster.

This would be wrong. In fact, in this video I show you three bicep exercises that you can do without any equipment if you want to know how to get big biceps at home! With bodyweight biceps exercises or any other exercises for that matter, you want to be sure that you are providing resistance and muscle overload. This resistance does not have to come in the form of dumbbells, barbells or even using pullup bars. All it takes is you positioning your own body in a way that you can use it for the resistance on bodyweight biceps exercises. In the first body weight exercise, I show you how to simulate a barbell curl using your leg! Yes, using your own leg to show you how to get big biceps! The key here is to realize that unless you're Gumby you likely won't be able to lift your leg up to the level of the chest required to get a full contraction on the biceps muscle. However, if you lean your torso forward and stabilize yourself against a wall for balance you can actually get peak biceps while modifying the strength curve to match the position. This helps you to really work your biceps without weights or machines. In the next biceps exercise without equipment, you lie on your side and position your body so you need your arms to lift you up (not your abs). This bicep bodyweight exercise can be a definite option if you are wondering how you can get bigger biceps at home since you can do this anywhere. Lastly, an exercise that you can use to get bigger biceps that is still using just your own body (and now this time a door). This doorway curl exercise is awesome for taking the bicep through a longer range of motion and allows you to provide the resistance needed to build bigger biceps by lowering the angle of your body to the door. It's these kind of bodyweight exercise mistakes that people make (thinking that you can't work biceps with bodyweight workouts) that might be holding you back. In this video, I share with you a three phase plan for losing fat in the abdomen, love handles or waistline area, and the chest. These spots are where most men carry their fat and are the last to lose it when dieting or trying to cut down. The reason for this is actually based on our genetics, but it doesn’t mean that we cannot do something about it. You may even have developed muscles underneath, but as long as the fat is present you will never get a chance to see what it looks like. This means that your priority has to be on cleaning up your nutrition. If you refuse to eat better, no matter what else you do, you will never look better. Early on however, you don’t have to get too specific with your eating. Simply make a pass through your diet and get rid of the obvious garbage that you know is not helping your cause. Sweets, excessive alcohol, sugars, etc can all be removed and replaced with more nutritious foods. You don’t have to necessarily worry about your macros at this point but just getting rid of the junk food and liquid calories. Realizing that it will take some time to see the results of these changes however, you should start chipping away at the trouble spots in another way. For the abdomen, you want to first ensure that you can properly activate the muscles in the rectus and transverse abdominis. Most find this difficult and even when they do perform ab exercises they get frustrated at not being able to feel them. Next, you want to start adding in ab training but mostly in the form of rotational ab exercises. Instead of trying to do crunches and having the fat get in the way of the movement, you can work your abs without having to crunch. Finally, you want to incorporate moves for your entire core, such as with the 7 minute ab workout included above. When it comes to the love handles, you want to start by working the lats. Here especially, you want to focus on full contractions and range of motion to ensure proper development of the muscles that actually insert onto the top of the pelvis near your waistline. The more you can build these muscles the greater the visual differential between your waist and your shoulders and the better the v taper. Next add in direct ab work and finish up with direct oblique training for the best look as your diet gets dialed in. Finally, for the chest you want to stretch it and strengthen the muscles of the rotator cuff to posturally improve the visual appearance of your chest. From here, work the serratus anterior. This will give your chest more natural underlying support will helping to visually chisel out the area underneath. Finally, you want to make sure that as your body fat levels decrease and fat loss continues that you are working your chest in all three heads. Use the angles of the band work as an example of how to hit the upper, lower and middle chest. Incline movements will hit the upper part of the chest whereas declined and flat movements will hit the lower and middle part of the chest. There's also the Center part of your chest as well and there are specific ways to target that. I'll be going over exercises to target each of these parts so let's jump right in to the very first and the best exercise for chest. The inclined barbell or dumbbell press is the ultimate chest exercise. With the barbell you will help increase your overall power which will allow you to grab heavier weights for chest and that will help the muscle grow. With the dumbbells which I'm going to demonstrate today you're going to hit your chest even more than the barbell because of a free range of motion. Start by pinching your shoulder blades really tight then lay back and press straight up. Bring the weights back down slightly higher than your nipple line and make sure you get nice and low to give that chest stretch. If you want to keep the tension on your chest don't lock out all the way. Make sure you go heavy with this one and as soon as you're done drop the weight and you're gonna do a superset with some incline dumbbell flyes. Keep your elbows slightly bent bring your arms out to the sides like you're about to give someone a big hug and then bring them back in. Stop right before you get the dumbbells straight up over your shoulders to keep the pressure on your chest. Next we got an exercise for the center of your chest. We're going to take two dumbbells hold them together against each other and you're going to lie down on an inclined bench. Press with dumbbells straight up and bring them down at a level where the top part of the dumbbell is hitting your chest. Squeeze the dumbbells together really tight to hit the center of the chest even more. Next we're going to do a flat wide grip barbell press. Here I like to grab the rings on the barbell with my pointer fingers. List of the barbell and bring it down to your nipple line and then press straight up. Again if you want to work on your chest more then avoid the lockout. On this next exercise were going to hit the upper chest again you going to grab two cables and position them a decent amount lower than your shoulders. Grab both the cables walk out a little bit and bring your hands up and together really squeezing at the end of the movement. When I do this movement I always keep my hands open as much as I can because doing this makes me feel it more in my chest. Now we finally have a movement for the lower part of the chest. We're going to grab a barbell and we're going to use it on a decline bench now. We're going to bring the barbell under our nipple line at about the start of our rib cage. Again press straight up and don't lock out if you want to keep the pressure on the chest. So that's pretty much it guys those are my favorite exercises for chest. I usually won't do all of them in one workout so make sure you spread them out. Also make sure that you pull back your shoulders and really pack them together nice and tight for all of your chest exercises as this will help you focus more on the muscle that you're targeting. Pec Deck - Alpha uses this machine at every workout because it's great for focusing on the chest. It's also great for newbies who haven't developed the stabilizing muscles. While all of them are at the top of the list for the most calories burned on a minute per minute basis, they still are not the best way to lose five pounds of body fat the fastest. In this video, I show you how you can never outtrain a bad diet. If you refuse to pay attention to the quality of your nutrition and the foods you put in your mouth you are never going to have the low levels of body fat that you desire long term. Sure, anyone can follow a short term diet that allows them to lose fat for a few weeks however if you can’t keep it up then you will never be satisfied with your body fat levels over the course of the year. Mistakenly, people look to exercises as the best way to drop body fat. While you definitely need to train, achieving fat loss is and always will be better accomplished via the right nutrition plan. This goes back to the comment about never being able to outtrain a bad diet. You simply cannot make up enough calorie burn via exercise (even the most intense) to overcome bad food choices. For instance, our very own Jesse is a big sugar fanatic and a worshiper of gummy bears. Just 17 measly gummy bears has 150 calories. Even if Jesse were to do 10 minutes straight of high effort high intensity burpees, he would only burn 120 calories and he would lose that battle with a net calorie gain of 30.
