Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jTdUOrqxdI ENGLISH CAPTIONS November 1st, 2014. Did you ever know that that Ukrs were the first nation on Earth (140,000 years old !!!) or that Buddah himself had Ukrainian roots and legendary Spartacus was Ukrainian too? And closer to our times: did you know that World War II was a Communist-Nazi war between Germany and Soviet Union for...the territory of Ukraine (being one of the Soviet Union Republics at the time, but who cares?). Facts aren't important anymore for those who are writing history books for Ukrainians schools. 1 ноября 2014. Фрагмент программы «Постскриптум» с Алексеем Пушковым. Kusköy, Turkey - the whistling village | European Journal

05:04
Loud, piercing and sharp...a whistle is hard to ignore. But whistling languages are in danger of dying out. But residents of Kusköy on the Black Sea coast still communicate by whistling. An ee sounds higher than an ah. Consonants are distinguished by changes in pitch over different intervals of time. Eskimos communicate with whistles; so do indigenous people in the Amazon, and in Europe shepherds keep boredom at bay and communicate by whistling to each other. But the world's 70 whistling languages are slowly becoming extinct. Kusköy in Turkey is defending the tradition.

Black Sea deluge hypothesis

11:22
The Black Sea deluge is a hypothesized catastrophic rise in the level of the Black Sea circa 5600 BC due to waters from the Mediterranean Sea breaching a sill in the Bosporus strait. The hypothesis was headlined when The New York Times published it in December 1996, shortly before it was published in an academic journal. While it is agreed that the sequence of events described did occur, there is debate over the suddenness, dating and magnitude of the events. Two opposing hypotheses have arisen to explain the rise of the Black Sea: gradual, and oscillating. The oscillating hypothesis specifies that over the last 30,000 years, water has intermittently flowed back and forth between the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea in relatively small magnitudes, and does not necessarily presuppose that there occurred any sudden "refilling" events. This video is targeted to blind users. Attribution: Article text available under CC-BY-SA Creative Commons image source in video

ROCK'N BLACK SEA DANCERS

02:04
Recorded this at a New Years party in Northern Cyprus at the Kaplica Beach Hotel and resturant Kaplica Village Iskele, Trikomo, Cyprus. The place is owned by a guy from the Black Sea area of Turkey and he hired some young dancers who knew the folk dances of the area to entertain us. You can get more information about this hotel on trip advisor http://goo.gl/TBznDF MORE INFO ABOUT BLACK SEA FOLK DANCES Turkish dance refers to the folk dances of Turkey. On the border between Europe and the Middle East, facing three seas, straddling important trade routes, Turkey has an ancient and complicated culture, reflected in the variety of its dances. However its dance traditions are dominated by the influence of the Ottoman Empire. The dominant dance forms are types of line dance. Turkey is divided into these cultural regions, which have distinctive dance styles: Trakya (European Turkey), Marmara[disambiguation needed] (on the coast of the Sea of Marmara, Karadeniz (North-central, on the coast of the Black Sea), Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia. The costumes worn by the dancers are often very colorful is representing happiness, or either very dull when doing a slow, depressing dance. Horon The horon which derives from the Greek word choros (Greek: (ο) Χορός) meaning dance in both ancient and modern Greek, Turkish: Horon, is a dance style found in the Black Sea region, now modern Turkey. The dances called Horon derived from the Greek culture of the area and are circular in nature, each characterized by distinct short steps. HORON or the round dance is a typical folk dance of the Black Sea coastal area and its interior parts. Horons appear very different from the folk dances in other parts of the country with their formation of tempo, rhythm and measure. Horons are performed, in general, by groups and their characteristic measure is 7/16 For their melodies are rendered very fast, it is very difficult to render them with every instrument. For this reason, rendering with a drum and zurna becomes practical. Melodies of horon are performed with the small type of zurna which is called 'cura'. In addition, in the interior parts blowing instruments such as bagpipe mey (again, a small zurna) etc. The other measures used are 2/4, 5/8 and 9/16.

MLTV will be a collaborative channel. If you would like to make some content available to MLTV, please write to [email protected] MLTV will also centralise on the channel, by way of classified playlists, relevant videos on marine litter. At the moment, we are compiling the videos in one single playlist, but soon we will classify the videos and compile them in topical playlists. If you would like to indicate a video for the playlist, please send an email to [email protected] At this moment, we are looking for a sponsor to fund the project for the visual identity of MLTV (opening, sound track, customization of the channel, etc.). If you are interested in funding this project, please contact us by email to [email protected] The first production by MLTV was the coverage of the International Conference on Prevention and Management of Marine Litter in European Seas (Berlin, Germany, from 10 to 12 April, 2013). http://www.marine-litter-conference-berlin.info The costs for this coverage were sponsored by Lighthouse Foundation (Kiel, Germany). http://www.lighthouse-foundation.org

Noah's Flood: Myth or Reality? P1

10:11
Deluge myth: deluge myth or flood myth is a mythical story of a great flood sent by a deity or deities to destroy civilization as an act of divine retribution. It is a widespread theme among many cultures, though it is perhaps best known in modern times through the biblical account of Noah's Ark, the Hindu Puranic story of Manu, through Deucalion in Greek mythology or Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Black Sea deluge theory: The Black Sea deluge is a hypothesized catastrophic rise in the level of the Black Sea circa 5600 BC due to waters from the Mediterranean Sea breaching a sill in the Bosporus Strait. The hypothesis made headlines when The New York Times published it in December 1996, shortly before it was published in an academic journal. While it is agreed that the sequence of events described did occur, there is debate over the suddenness and magnitude of the events. Two opposing hypotheses have arisen to explain the rise of the Black Sea: gradual and oscillating. The oscillating hypothesis specifies that over the last 30,000 years, water has intermittently flowed back and forth between the Black Sea and Aegean Sea in relatively small magnitudes. Flood hypothesis: In 1997, Bill Ryan and Walter Pitman published evidence that a massive flooding of the Black Sea occurred about 5600 BC through the Bosporus, following this scenario. Before that date, glacial meltwater had turned the Black and Caspian Seas into vast freshwater lakes which were draining into the Aegean Sea. As glaciers retreated, some of the rivers emptying into the Black Sea declined in volume and changed course to drain into the North Sea. The levels of the lakes dropped through evaporation, while changes in worldwide hydrology caused sea level to rise. The rising Mediterranean finally spilled over a rocky sill at the Bosporus. The event flooded 155,000 km2 (60,000 sq mi) of land and significantly expanded the Black Sea shoreline to the north and west. According to the researchers, "Ten cubic miles [42 km3] of water poured through each day, two hundred times what flows over Niagara Falls ... The Bosporus flume roared and surged at full spate for at least three hundred days." Samplings of sediments in the Black Sea by a series of expeditions carried out between 1998 to 2005 confirmed the conclusion of Pitman and Ryan. These results were also completed by the Noah project led by the Bulgarian Institute of Oceanography (IO-BAS). Furthermore, calculations made by Mark Siddall predicted an underwater canyon that was actually found. Evidence from archaeology Although neolithic agriculture had by that time already reached the Pannonian plain, Ryan and Pittman link its spread with people displaced by the postulated flood. More recent examinations by oceanographers such as Teofilo A. "Jun" Abrajano Jr. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Canadian colleague Ali Aksu of Memorial University of Newfoundland have cast some doubt on this linkage. Abrajano's team, finding sapropel mud deposits in the Sea of Marmara which are today associated with freshwater outflow over top of salt-water inflow, have concluded that there has been sustained fresh water outflow from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean and the Black Sea for at least 10,000 years: Aksu found an underwater delta south of the Bosporus; evidence for a strong flow of fresh water out of the Black Sea in the 8th millennium BC. In a series of expeditions, a team of marine archeologists led by Robert Ballard identified what appeared to be ancient shorelines, freshwater snail shells, drowned river valleys, tool-worked timbers, and man-made structures in roughly 300 feet (100 m) of water off the Black Sea coast of modern Turkey. Although radiocarbon dating of freshwater mollusk remains indicated an age of about 7,500 years, one should note that radiocarbon dating in freshwater mollusks in particular can be inaccurate. Such inaccuracies, however, are always in the direction of objects appearing older than they actually are (containing less 14C than expected), so the time given is a maximum age of a freshwater shoreline at that location.
