ZIM Bubbling: 71. Style for Canvas 2 - for ZIM at http://zimjs.com/ The latest updates for the ZIMjs Framework - Complete Canvas Coding and Creation. NEW IN ZIM OCT (8) https://zimjs.com - come on in and discuss https://zimjs.com/slack STYLE can be used to set any parameter on a DisplayObject. For instance: Circle, Blob, Button, Pane, Bitmap, Sprite, etc. These are applied at the time the objects are made. They are cascading with each level overriding the previous level: 1. GENERAL: any style can be specified in general corner:30 will make all corners default to 30 2. TYPE: styles for object type can be set to override the general styles Button:{corner:0} will make all button corners default to 0 3. GROUP: styles for a group can be set to override the type styles homePage:{corner:20} will make all objects of that group default to 20 4. OBJECT: styles applied as parameters to the object override all other styles new Button({corner:40}) will make this button have a corner of 40 TRANSFORM STYLES Transformations can also be applied (all are numbers - visible is a Boolean): x, y, rotation, alpha, scale, scaleX, scaleY, regX, regY, skewX, skewY, visible a bounds style has a value of {x:Number, y:Number, width:Number, height:Number} where x and y are optional RANDOM, RANGES, SERIES, FUNCTIONS Any property value can be a ZIM VEE value to make use of ZIM zik (pick) color:[red, green, blue] will pick a random color for each object for which the style is applied x:series([100,200,300]) will place subsequent objects at these locations width:{min:100, max:500} will make objects with a width within this range See Docs on ZIM zik() and ZIM series() for more information FUNCTION STYLES The following functions have been added: addTo, center, centerReg, transform, drag, gesture, outline, mov, animate, wiggle Values of true will give default functionality for all but mov, animate and wiggle ZIM DUO configuration objects can be set as a value for any of these example: drag:true; or drag:{onTop:false} For animate and wiggle, [] can be put around multiple configuration objects to wiggle in the x and y for instance or run multiple animate calls on the object CONVENIENCE STYLES add:true - has been provided to add to the stage (use addTo for other containers) move:{x:value, y:value} or move:x - mirrors the mov Function style (just adding the e) style:false - will turn off all styles for the selector EXCLUSION A value of ignore can be used to exclude any earlier styles and return to the original default. ignore is a ZIM global variable - if zns is true then use zim.ignore or just "ignore". Setting style:false will exclude the object from all styles All DisplayObjects have a style parameter (default true). Set to false to ignore styles. GROUPS All DisplayObjects have a group parameter. This parameter accepts a string or a comma delimited string of multiple groups. The group of components can then be targeted in the Group section of STYLE. A group can contain just one component and act like an ID in CSS. Angular 2 route parameters

Let us understand this with an example. We want to make Employee Code on Employee List component clickable. When we click on an Employee code, we want to redirect the user to Employee Component which displays that specific employee details. In the URL we will pass the emploee code as a parameter. So clicking on EMP101 will redirect the user to URL (http://localhost/employees/emp101). The Employee component will then read the parameter value from the URL and retrieves that specific employee details by calling the server side web service. In our previous video we have modified the code in app.module.ts file to use hash style routing. Let's remove useHash property, so we are using HTML5 style routing instead of hash style routing. In the root application module (app.module.ts), include the following route. When the user navigates to a URL like (http://localhost:12345/employees/EMP101), we want to display EmployeeComponent. Notice the code parameter specified using colon (:). { path: 'employees/:code', component: EmployeeComponent }, Next, in EmployeeListComponent, modify the [td] element that displays employee code to bind it to the route we created above using the routerLink directive as shown below. [a [routerLink]="['/employees', employee.code]"] {{employee.code | uppercase}} [/a] Explanation of the above code: 1. Notice in this example we are binding routerLink directive to an array. 2. This array is called link parameters array. 3. The first element in the array is the path of the route to the destination component. 4. The second element in the array is the route parameter, in our case the employee code. In the Angular EmployeeService (employee.service.ts), introduce the following getEmployeeByCode() method. getEmployeeByCode(empCode: string): Observable[IEmployee] { return this._http.get("http://localhost:24535/api/employees/" + empCode) .map((response: Response) =] [IEmployee]response.json()) .catch(this.handleError); } Explanation of the above code: 1. This method takes employee code as a parameter and returns that employee object (IEmployee). 2. This method issues a GET request to the Web API service. 3. Once the Web API service returns the employee object, this mehod maps it to IEmployee type and returns it. In one of our previous videos we have created EmployeeComponent to display employee details. When we created this component, we have hard coded employee data in the component itself. Now let's modify it 1. To retrieve employee details by calling the Angular EmployeeService method getEmployeeByCode() we created above. 2. This method calls the server side Web API service which retrieves that specific employee details from the database. 3. The employee code parameter is in the URL 4. To retrieve the parameter from the URL we are using the ActivatedRoute service provided by Angular 5. Since ActivatedRoute is provided as a service inject it into the constructor just like how we have injected EmployeeService There are diiferent approaches to reterieve route parameters values. We will discuss all the different approaches and when to use what in our upcoming videos. Since we need EmployeeService both in EmployeeListComponent and EmployeeComponent, let's register it in the root module so we get a singleton instead of multiple instances of the service. We will discuss what is a Singleton in Angular and why is it important in our next video. For now, let's remove the EmployeeService registration from EmployeeListComponent by removing the following providers property in employeeList.component.ts file providers: [EmployeeService] Now regsiter the EmployeeService in application root module (app.module.ts) by including it in the providers property of @NgModule decorator.

Build HTML Tables In WordPress | WP Learning Lab

13:37
Grab Your Free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL Creating a WordPress HTML table is just like creating a regular HTML table only you're doing it in WordPress. You still use the same tags, table, tr, th, td and the same styles. Luckily, creating tables is quite easy and it's a great way to display data. The biggest drawback of tables is that they are not mobile responsive. So you need to test your tables on mobile to make sure they work how you expect. A good rule of thumb is to make sure that your table doesn't have too many columns because those are what will get in you trouble on mobile. Important table tags you need to know: table - this tag contains the table in its entirety. You can add specific parameters and styles to this tag. Parameters include border, cellpadding and cellspacing. The CSS using the style parameter to create inline styles and the sky is the limit if you know CSS. If you want to learn some CSS check out my CSS channel over here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeFLITjl2v9vtIkftw9UMsw tr - This tag defines the rows of the table. th - Is a special cell tag that goes inside the tr tags. It is the heading data cell. Anything you enter into this cell will centered and bolded. These cells are normally only contained in one row in a table (the heading row). Heading cells are optional. td - This is a regular data cell that will populate every other row in your table. These td tags will contain your data. You can have as many rows (tr) as you want. Inside the rows, the number of td tags will define how many columns your table has. Remember the more columns you have the more likely it is that your table won't be mobile optimized. I hope this information helps you! HTML BGCOLOR - How To Use It And Why You Shouldn't

03:31
HTML BGCOLOR - How To Use It And Why You Shouldn't https://youtu.be/TI8TYIQBC2A The HTML bgcolor parameters allows you to set the background color of HTML elements. It's not used much any more because CSS has taken over this role. But it's still useful to know how this works for many situations especially if you are updating legacy code. To set a background color in an HTML tag all you have to do is add the parameter and value as follows: bgcolor="#000000" That would a black background color to the element The equivalent CSS style is style="background-color:#000000;" The benefit of using CSS is that you can easily add borders, padding, margins, and with CSS3 even gradient background colors. That's all there is to it. I hope this video helps you! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. HTML Underline - How to underline text in HTML and CSS

03:34
HTML Underline - How to underline text in HTML and CSS https://youtu.be/_Yq-d_obKfU HTML underline allows you to underline text on your page. This HTML parameter is still widely used, even though CSS is able to underline text. In order for the CSS to work you have to wrap the text you want to underline with some type of selector. If all you're doing is underlining, it's often easier to just wrapt the text in the underline tag. That's all there is to it. I hope this video helps you! JavaScript event capturing

08:36
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/01/javascript-event-capturing.html Event capturing is the opposite of event bubbling. We discussed event bubbling in detail in Part 40 of JavaScript tutorial. With event bubbling the event bubbles up from the inner most element to the outer most element in the DOM hierarchy. With event capuring the opposite happens, the event gets captured from the outer most element to innermost element. In real world event capturing is rarely used. Let us understand this with an example. In the following example we have 3 [div] nested elements. Notice that we are using addEventListener() method to assign event handler to each [div] element. To enable event capturing we have set the third parameter (phase) of addEventListener() method to true. Now when you click on the innermost [div] (DIV3), notice that the events are fired from the outermost [div] to innermost [div] (DIV1 =] DIV 2 =] DIV 3). [html] [head] [style type="text/css"] .divStyle { display: table-cell; border: 5px solid black; padding: 20px; text-align: center; } [/style] [/head] [body] [div id="DIV1" class="divStyle"] DIV 1 [div id="DIV2" class="divStyle"] DIV 2 [div id="DIV3" class="divStyle"] DIV 3 [/div] [/div] [/div] [script type="text/javascript"] var divElements = document.getElementsByTagName('div'); for (var i = 0; i [ divElements.length; i++) { divElements[i].addEventListener("click", clickHandler, true); } function clickHandler() { alert(this.getAttribute("id") + " click event handled"); } [/script] [/body] [/html] Please note : IE8 and earlier versions does not support addEventListener() method. This implies that event capturing is not supported in IE8 and earlier versions, and hence the above code will not work in IE 8 and earlier versions. Stopping event capturing : Stopping event capturing is very similar to stopping event bubbling. With the example below, when you click on any [div] element notice that DIV 1 element handles the click event and it does not get captured down. [html] [head] [style type="text/css"] .divStyle { display: table-cell; border: 5px solid black; padding: 20px; text-align: center; } [/style] [/head] [body] [div id="DIV1" class="divStyle"] DIV 1 [div id="DIV2" class="divStyle"] DIV 2 [div id="DIV3" class="divStyle"] DIV 3 [/div] [/div] [/div] [script type="text/javascript"] var divElements = document.getElementsByTagName('div'); for (var i = 0; i [ divElements.length; i++) { divElements[i].addEventListener("click", clickHandler, true); } function clickHandler(event) { event.stopPropagation(); alert(this.getAttribute("id") + " click event handled"); } [/script] [/body] [/html] Using addEventListener() method with last argument set to true is the only way to enable event capturing. If the thid parameter (phase) is set to true event capturing is enabled and if it is set to false event bubbling is enabled. If you want both even bubbling and capturing to be enabled, then assign handlers 2 times, once with the phase parameter set to false and once with the phase parameter set to true as shown below. [html] [head] [style type="text/css"] .divStyle { display: table-cell; border: 5px solid black; padding: 20px; text-align: center; } [/style] [/head] [body] [div id="DIV1" class="divStyle"] DIV 1 [div id="DIV2" class="divStyle"] DIV 2 [div id="DIV3" class="divStyle"] DIV 3 [/div] [/div] [/div] [script type="text/javascript"] var divElements = document.getElementsByTagName('div'); for (var i = 0; i [ divElements.length; i++) { divElements[i].addEventListener("click", clickHandler, false); divElements[i].addEventListener("click", clickHandler, true); } function clickHandler() { alert(this.getAttribute("id") + " click event handled"); } [/script] [/body] [/html] With both event capturing and bubbling enabled, events are first captured from the outermost element to the innermost element and then bubbles up from the innermost to the outermost element.

addeventlistener and removeeventlistener in JavaScript

11:51
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/01/addeventlistener-and.html In this video we will discuss assigning event handlers in JavaScript using the following special methods addEventListener removeEventListener attachEvent detachEvent Internet Explorer 9 (and later versions) & all the other modern browsers support addEventListener() and removeEventListener() methods. Sytnax for assigning event handler using addEventListener() method element.addEventListener(event, handler, phase) Sytnax for removing event handler using removeEventListener() method element.removeEventListener(event, handler, phase) Please note : The third parameter phase is usually set to false as it is not used. Example : In this example, we are passing values for all the 3 parameters including phase. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] btn.addEventListener("mouseover", changeColorOnMouseOver, false); btn.addEventListener("mouseout", changeColorOnMouseOut, false); function changeColorOnMouseOver() { this.style.background = 'red'; this.style.color = 'yellow'; } function changeColorOnMouseOut() { this.style.background = 'black'; this.style.color = 'white'; } [/script] Since the third parameter "phase" is optional you can omit it if you wish. btn.addEventListener("mouseover", changeColorOnMouseOver); btn.addEventListener("mouseout", changeColorOnMouseOut); Example : This example demonstrates removing event handlers. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [input type="button" value="Remove Event Handlers" onclick="removeEventHandlers()" /] [script type="text/javascript"] btn.addEventListener("mouseover", changeColorOnMouseOver); btn.addEventListener("mouseout", changeColorOnMouseOut); function changeColorOnMouseOver() { this.style.background = 'red'; this.style.color = 'yellow'; } function changeColorOnMouseOut() { this.style.background = 'black'; this.style.color = 'white'; } function removeEventHandlers() { btn.removeEventListener("mouseover", changeColorOnMouseOver); btn.removeEventListener("mouseout", changeColorOnMouseOut); } [/script] Using this approach you can assign more than one event handler method to a given event. The order in which handler methods are executed is not defined. In this example, 2 event handler methods (clickHandler1 & clickHandler3) are assigned to click event of the button control. When you click the button both the handler methods are executed. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] btn.addEventListener("click", clickHandler1); btn.addEventListener("click", clickHandler2); function clickHandler1() { alert("Handler 1"); } function clickHandler2() { alert("Handler 2"); } [/script] attachEvent() and detachEvent() methods only work in Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions. Sytnax for assigning event handler using attachEvent() method element.attachEvent( "on"+event, handler) Sytnax for removing event handler using detachEvent() method element.detachEvent( "on"+event, handler) Example : This example will only work in Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] btn.attachEvent("onclick", clickEventHandler); function clickEventHandler() { alert("Click Handler"); } [/script] Cross browser solution : For the above example to work in all browsers, modify the script as shown below. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] if (btn.addEventListener) { btn.addEventListener("click", clickEventHandler); } else { btn.attachEvent("onclick", clickEventHandler); } function clickEventHandler() { alert("Click Handler"); } [/script]

HTML Web Application with TM1 Part 6

19:05
Part 6: Collecting Information In a Form-Style Input With the basic functionality for showing the employee list now complete, we can add the content to the Edit Employee dialog that allows the user to update the employee details. This information is written to the TM1 datasource and can be viewed or updated by any of the native TM1 interfaces. Although the layout here is fairly simplistic, the format is free-form and can be styled in in a variety of ways which do not follow a grid style format. This tutorial will be covering some more in-depth topics of dealing with datasources, both remote and locally created arrays, as well as the basics of binding datasources to HTML. Once the user has completed data entry, the changes will be committed back to TM1 in a single request. Highlights * Understanding local and global level scope and when to use it * How to create local datasources (arrays) for use in widgets * Use global context to pass information from one module to another * Apply parameter driven values to datasources * Bind HTML to datasource fields * Format and style the input fields into dropdowns, date pickers, and numeric fields * Create form style data entry module that will be displayed in a module * Prepare ESWeb datasource for writeback * Write data back to TM1 For more details, visit: http://www.carpedatuminc.com/index.php/products/enterprise-services/enterprise-services/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_content=html%20app%20part%206&utm_campaign=video%20effectiveness

jQuery ID selector : To select html element(s) by their id attribute value, we use jQuery id selector Syntax of jQuery ID selector: $(“CSS ID selector”).action(parameters); To the jQuery function, if we pass the CSS ID selector then it is called as jQuery ID selector I.e. a jQuery function with CSS ID selector as a parameter is called as jQuery ID selector Ex: $("#firstp").css( {"border":"2px solid blue"} ); It selects any HTML element whose id attribute value is set to “firstp” and applies the border of 2px solid blue Note: in CSS hash(#) symbol indicates ID selector and id attribute value should be unique ======================================================== Follow the link for next video: https://youtu.be/l5Y8wADOXBY Follow the link for previous video: https://youtu.be/v5ZE2zi48sQ ========= For more benefits & Be up to date =================== Subscribe to the channel: https://www.youtube.com/chidrestechtu... JavaScript popup window

Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/01/javascript-popup-window_22.html In this video we will discuss, how to open a popup window using JavaScript. To open a popup window, use window.open() method. All the parameters are optional. window.open(URL, name, features, replace) URL - URL of the page to open. If URL is not specified, a new window with about:blank is opened name - Specifies the target attribute or the name of the window. _blank - URL is loaded into a new window. This is the default value if not specified. _parent - URL is loaded into the parent frame _self - URL replaces the current page _top - URL replaces any framesets that may be loaded name - name of the window features - Must be a comma-separated list. Some of the browsers does not support these features. menubar (yes/no) - Shows or hides the browser menu toolbar (yes/no) - Shows or hides the browser navigation bar location (yes/no) - Shows or hides the address field status (yes/no) - Shows or hides the status bar resizable (yes/no) - Whether or not the window is resizable scrollbars (yes/no) - Whether or not to display scroll bars top(pixels) - The top position of the window left(pixels) - The left position of the window height (pixels) - The height of the new window width (pixels) - The width of the new window replace - Specifies whether the URL creates a new entry or replaces the current entry in the browser history. Works only if the url is loaded into the same window. true - URL replaces the current document in the browser history list false - URL creates a new entry in the browser history list No parameters are passed to window.open() method. Since URL is not specified, a new window with about:blank will be opened. [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="window.open()" /] Most modern browsers open new tabs instead of separate windows. If you want to open the popup in a new window, one workaround I have found is to specify the URL, name, and features(height and width) parameters. This may not work in all browsers and it also depends on user's browser preferences. [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="window.open('http://google.com', '_blank', 'height=200,width=200')" /] When name parameter is set to _self, the new window replaces the current window [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="window.open('http://google.com', '_self')" /] Specify where you want the new popup window to be positioned using top and left features. [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="window.open('http://google.com', 'My Window', 'height=300,width=300, top=400, left=400')" /] Disable scrollbars and resizing. Works in IE but not in Chrome. [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="window.open('http://google.com', 'My Window', 'height=300,width=300, scrollbars=no, resizable=no')" /] To close pouup use window.close() method. [input type="button" value="Open popup" onclick="openPopup()" /] [input type="button" value="Close popup" onclick="closePopup()" /] [script type="text/javascript"] var popup; function openPopup() { popup = window.open("http://google.com","My Window", "height=300,width=300") } function closePopup() { popup.close(); } [/script]

TRY CONVERT function in SQL Server 2012

07:46
try convert function in sql sql server try_convert try_convert in sql server 2012 try convert sql try_parse vs try_convert sql server In this video we will discuss TRY_CONVERT function Difference between CONVERT and TRY_CONVERT functions Difference between TRY_PARSE and TRY_CONVERT functions TRY_CONVERT function Introduced in SQL Server 2012 Converts a value to the specified data type Returns NULL if the provided value cannot be converted to the specified data type If you request a conversion that is explicitly not permitted, then TRY_CONVERT fails with an error Syntax : TRY_CONVERT ( data_type, value, [style] ) Style parameter is optional. The range of acceptable values is determined by the target data_type. For the list of all possible values for style parameter, please visit the following MSDN article https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187928.aspx Example : Convert string to INT. As the string can be converted to INT, the result will be 99 as expected. SELECT TRY_CONVERT(INT, '99') AS Result Example : Convert string to INT. The string cannot be converted to INT, so TRY_CONVERT returns NULL SELECT TRY_CONVERT(INT, 'ABC') AS Result Example : Converting an integer to XML is not explicitly permitted. so in this case TRY_CONVERT fails with an error SELECT TRY_CONVERT(XML, 10) AS Result If you want to provide a meaningful error message instead of NULL when the conversion fails, you can do so using CASE statement or IIF function. Example : Using CASE statement to provide a meaningful error message when the conversion fails. SELECT CASE WHEN TRY_CONVERT(INT, 'ABC') IS NULL THEN 'Conversion Failed' ELSE 'Conversion Successful' END AS Result Output : As the conversion fails, you will now get a message 'Conversion Failed' instead of NULL Example : Using IIF function to provide a meaningful error message when the conversion fails. SELECT IIF(TRY_CONVERT(INT, 'ABC') IS NULL, 'Conversion Failed', 'Conversion Successful') AS Result What is the difference between CONVERT and TRY_CONVERT CONVERT will result in an error if the conversion fails, where as TRY_CONVERT will return NULL instead of an error. Since ABC cannot be converted to INT, CONVERT will return an error SELECT CONVERT(INT, 'ABC') AS Result Since ABC cannot be converted to INT, TRY_CONVERT will return NULL instead of an error SELECT TRY_CONVERT(INT, 'ABC') AS Result Example : Using TRY_CONVERT() function with table data. We will use the following Employees table for this example. SQL Script to create Employees table Create table Employees ( Id int primary key identity, Name nvarchar(10), Age nvarchar(10) ) Go Insert into Employees values ('Mark', '40') Insert into Employees values ('John', '20') Insert into Employees values ('Amy', 'THIRTY') Insert into Employees values ('Ben', '21') Insert into Employees values ('Sara', 'FIFTY') Insert into Employees values ('David', '25') Go The data type of Age column is nvarchar. So string values like (THIRTY, FIFTY ) are also stored. Now, we want to write a query to convert the values in Age column to int and return along with the Employee name. Notice TRY_CONVERT function returns NULL for the rows where age cannot be converted to INT. SELECT Name, TRY_CONVERT(INT, Age) AS Age FROM Employees If you use CONVERT instead of TRY_CONVERT, the query fails with an error. SELECT NAME, CONVERT(INT, Age) AS Age FROM Employees The above query returns the following error Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'THIRTY' to data type int. Difference between TRY_PARSE and TRY_CONVERT functions TRY_PARSE can only be used for converting from string to date/time or number data types where as TRY_CONVERT can be used for any general type conversions. For example, you can use TRY_CONVERT to convert a string to XML data type, where as you can do the same using TRY_PARSE Converting a string to XML data type using TRY_CONVERT SELECT TRY_CONVERT(XML, '[root][child/][/root]') AS [XML] Converting a string to XML data type using TRY_PARSE SELECT TRY_PARSE('[root][child/][/root]' AS XML) AS [XML] The above query will result in the following error Invalid data type xml in function TRY_PARSE Another difference is TRY_PARSE relies on the presence of .the .NET Framework Common Language Runtime (CLR) where as TRY_CONVERT does not. Report Builder 3.0 for SQL Server 2012 Part 4B: How to add HTML to your Reports and Style them

11:15
This is a very nice section on formatting. One of the things that I like about this section is that you learn how to introduce html directly into your report. With the rich collection of wyswyg editors available, this makes it possible to get a report to look any way that you like! We also learn a couple of other tips, such as how to display all values from a field correctly when we don't want to use a table data region or how to create hyperlinks in our report. This comes from the -format text- tutorial on msdn. As always, I've added an instructor touch to the tutorial. Remember, the best way to learn is to do the tutorials after you watch the videos.

Please watch Part 8, before proceeding. We want to display all the employees in a bulletted list as shown below. Notice that all the employee names are rendered as hyperlinks. Adding Links between pages using html helpers.png When the hyperlink is clicked, the user will be redirected to employee details page, displaying the full details of the employee as shown below. Generate links using Html.ActionLink html helper.png Copy and paste the following Index() action method in EmployeeController class. This method retrieves the list of employees, which is then passed on to the view for rendering. public ActionResult Index() { EmployeeContext employeeContext = new EmployeeContext(); // Replace square brackets with angular brackets List[Employee] employees = employeeContext.Employees.ToList(); return View(employees); } At the moment, we don't have a view that can display the list of employees. To add the view 1. Right click on the Index() action method 2. Set View name = Index View engine = Razor Select, Create a stronlgy-typed view checkbox Select "Employee" from "Model class" dropdownlist 3. Click Add At the point, "Index.cshtml" view should be generated. Copy and paste the following code in "Index.cshtml". @* Replace square brackets with angular brackets *@ @model IEnumerable[MVCDemo.Models.Employee] @using MVCDemo.Models; [div style="font-family:Arial"] @{ ViewBag.Title = "Employee List"; } [h2]Employee List[/h2] [ul] @foreach (Employee employee in @Model) { [li]@Html.ActionLink(employee.Name, "Details", new { id = employee.EmployeeId })[/li] } [/ul] [/div] Points to Remember: 1. @model is set to IEnumerable[MVCDemo.Models.Employee] 2. We are using Html.ActionLink html helper to generate links Copy and paste the following code in Details.cshtml @Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index")
