When to pray Esha and Fajr and begin fasting during persistent twilight

11:07
At high latitudes in the summer, the sky does not become completely dark. Twilight remains throughout the night. This presentation attempts to explain the time for Esha, Fajr and beginning the fast during persistent twilight, according to the Hanafi school of thought. Note: If white twilight does not set, the disappearance of red twilight should be considered the beginning of Esha. If red twilight too does not set, esha can be offered as qadha. This is an important clarification, because the video does not mention red twilight directly. How to Perform Salah - Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha (Same Way to Pray for Men and Women)

Please note: The recitation is read out aloud for the purpose of demonstrating what needs to be said during prayer. Some prayers require the recitation and other aspects to be said silently. For further details, please consult your local Islamic centre. For step by step instructions on how to perform the Salah, please watch "My Prayer - Step by Step Guide to Salah" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKblG-Zoagk Prayer is a unique training and developmental program which, if well and devotedly performed, can achieve for a Muslim many valuable spiritual, physical, and ethical gains. Salah is the daily ritual prayer enjoined upon all Muslims as one of the five Pillars of Islam. It is performed five times a day by all Muslims. Salah is a precise worship, different from praying on the inspiration of the moment. Muslims pray or, perhaps more correctly, worship five times throughout the day: · Between first light and sunrise. · After the sun has passed the middle of the sky. · Between mid-afternoon and sunset. · Between sunset and the last light of the day. · Between darkness and midnight. Each prayer may take at least 5 minutes, but it may be lengthened as a person wishes. Muslims can pray in any clean environment, alone or together, in a mosque or at home, at work or on the road, indoors or out. Under special circumstances, such as illness, journey, or war, certain allowances in the prayers are given to make their offering easy. Having specific times each day to be close to God helps Muslims remain aware of the importance of their faith, and the role it plays in every part of life. Muslims start their day by cleaning themselves and then standing before their Lord in prayer. The prayers consist of recitations from the Quran in Arabic and a sequence of movements: standing, bowing, prostrating, and sitting. All recitations and movements express submission, humility, and homage to God. The various postures Muslims assume during their prayers capture the spirit of submission; the words remind them of their commitments to God. The prayer also reminds one of belief in the Day of Judgment and of the fact that one has to appear before his or her Creator and give an account of their entire life. This is how a Muslim starts their day. In the course of the day, Muslims dissociate themselves form their worldly engagements for a few moments and stand before God. This brings to mind once again the real purpose of life. These prayers serve as a constant reminder throughout the day to help keep believers mindful of God in the daily stress of work, family, and distractions of life. Prayer strengthens faith, dependence on God, and puts daily life within the perspective of life to come after death and the last judgment. As they prepare to pray, Muslims face Mecca, the holy city that houses the Kaaba (the ancient place of worship built by Abraham and his son Ishmael). At the end of the prayer, the shahada (testimony of faith) is recited, and the greeting of peace, "Peace be upon all of you and the mercy and blessings of God," is repeated twice. Though individual performance of salah is permissible, collective worship in the mosque has special merit and Muslims are encouraged to perform certain salah with others. With their faces turned in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, the worshipers align themselves in parallel rows behind the imam, or prayer leader, who directs them as they execute the physical postures coupled with Quran recitations. Although not religiously mandated, individual devotional prayers, especially during the night, are emphasized and are a common practice among pious Muslims. Salat times - Video Learning - WizScience.com

02:09
"Salat times" refers to times when Muslims perform prayers . The term is primarily used for the five daily prayers plus the Friday prayer. According to Muslim beliefs, the salat times were taught by Allah to Muhammad. Prayer times are standard for Muslims in the world, especially the fard prayer times. They depend on the condition of the Sun and geography. There are varying opinions regarding the exact salat times, the schools of Islamic thought differing in minor details. All schools agree that any given prayer cannot be performed before its stipulated time. The five daily prayers are obligatory and they are performed at times determined essentially by the position of the Sun in the sky. Hence, salat times vary at different locations on the Earth. Fajr begins at subh saadiq - true dawn or morning twilight when the morning light appears across the full width of the sky and ends at sunrise The Dhuhr prayer starts after the sun passes its zenith, and lasts until Asr The Asr prayer starts when the shadow of an object is the same length as the object itself plus the shadow length at Dhuhr, and lasts till sunset. Asr can be split into two sections; the preferred time is before the sun starts to turn orange, while the time of necessity is from when the sun turns orange until sunset. The Maghrib prayer begins when the sun sets, and lasts till the red light has left the sky in the west. The Isha'a prayer starts when the red light is gone from the western sky, and lasts until the rise of the "white light" in the east. The preferred time for Isha'a is before midnight, meaning halfway between sunset and sunrise. Wiz Science™ is "the" learning channel for children and all ages.
