I never had genetically gifted arms and I really had to work, and I still do, to bring my arms up. For the first 6 years of training I only did pump training for arms which isn't optimal if you're natural like me, but neither is just doing big compounds so, where is the trick? Well, watch the video and find out. I have much more to say on this topic but I believe these are the basics and only after this you can discuss about intensity, volume, frequency, recovery, exercise selection and other stuff, but if you don't have this stuff covered it's useless to cover other important stuff. It's like building a house without foundation, same goes for muscle hypertrophy and strength. In 9th grade, he Naired his arms and thought it was nice and smooth. The next day he attends Spanish class and one of his friends calls out Alpha about his hairless arms. He lied about it since he hadn't embraced his inner Alpha M. at this point. He was incredibly uncomfortable. But ultimately, his arms have never had hair since then. A lot of athletes and women shave their arms. It's more socially acceptable but Alpha doesn't know if it's catching on. So, you want to shave your arms. How do you do it? Go over it with a clipper and then with shaving cream & razor. If you don't want to go totally bald, trim the length with a facial hair grooming tool. Just be prepared for questions with an affirmative response.

In this 2-part video series of the best bicep and tricep workout, I’m going to be discussing the best arm workout and the best arm exercises based on science (10 studies) and our anatomical understanding of the arms. In part 1 of this series, I will be discussing the best bicep exercises and the best bicep workout for size and shape. The bicep curls variations shown in this video will help tremendously in putting more mass on your arms and will help develop your “bicep peak”. But it’s important that you don’t simply think about “getting bigger biceps”, as that should be the goal but equally as important is the shape and definition of your biceps. In order to get well-defined biceps and arms you need to train each part of the biceps – the long head, the short head, and the brachialis (as well as the brachioradialis). All these components, if properly trained, will help build an aesthetic looking arm with size, shape, and definition. First, it is easiest to concentrate on the long head of the triceps since it is unique in its origin. This head of the tricep muscle doesn’t originate on the upper arm bone but actually on the shoulder blade or scapula. This means that it crosses the shoulder joint and can have actions on the motion at the shoulder joint. In the case of the long head, it can extend the arm behind the body when maximally contracted. This is important since you want to know how to stretch it and place more tension on the muscle when picking exercises to favorably target this head. In order to do this, you want to find exercises that allow you to place your arms up overhead (which will stretch the long head of the triceps slightly and increase the tension that it can generate because of this). Tricep exercises like push aways or even lying dumbbell extensions and french presses are going to put your arm in this position safely. An overhead dumbbell extension is not as ideal however since it does jeopardize the health of your shoulder due to excessive internal rotation while performing it. Before moving on to the other two heads however, I do want to address the concept of active insufficiency. This happens when you maximally shorten the muscle that crosses the two joints by putting both joints at their end range. In the case of the long head, you would extend the elbow at the same time that you extend the arm behind the body. This position, while generating less tension does generate an incredible contraction as the muscle fibers are maximally shortened. Some argue to not train here, while I totally disagree. This position is very helpful for getting people to feel a contraction and improve mind-muscle awareness which will carry over to better workouts overall. Feel free to include the triceps kickback and cobra pushup as exercises that you can do in the beginning of your tricep workouts to wake up the muscles and help you establish a strong mind muscle connection from the outset. Next you have to cover the medial and lateral heads of the tricep muscles. The key difference in exercises for each of these tricep heads is the position of the arms and elbows during the extension of the elbow. Just like with the quads in leg extensions, if you turn your arm in during a pushdown or similar exercise, you will focus more on the outer or lateral head of the triceps. On the contrary, if you turn your arm out our underhand, you will focus more of the attention on the medial head. There are many tricep exercises that you can do and only some of them are shown in this video. The key is, the science behind their selection will not change. The problem is that they wind up doing hours of the wrong types of biceps exercises, the wrong biceps workouts, and sometimes even neglect just how important the triceps are to adding size to the arms. Well, in this video, I'm going to show you that it is possible to get big arms much faster by including a couple of the right biceps exercises and triceps exercises into your arm workouts. To begin with, in order to get the biceps to peak more you will want to work on the long head of the biceps since it is largely responsible for the biceps peak. The long head of the biceps can be stimulated more with biceps exercises that start with the arm in an extended position behind the body. You can do this with an incline biceps curl, but you won't be able to lift as much weight as you can on the biceps exercise that I show you here. Next you'll want to work on specific triceps exercises when trying to get much bigger arms a lot faster. Since the triceps muscle accounts for roughly two thirds of the mass of the arm you'll want to make sure you train them in every complete arm workout. The triceps exercise shown here will help you to get big arms much faster because it hits the long head of the triceps more - which makes up the bulk of the triceps muscle. By putting the triceps on a bigger stretch, you'll be able to handle more weight and get a stronger contraction - allowing you to get big arms much faster than with typical triceps workouts. You may have different reasons for dreaming of becoming taller: to feel more comfortable with your taller partner, not to lag behind your tall family, and what not. 8 Minute Arm Workout (SHOCK YOUR ARMS!)

There is no better way to ensure the intensity of a workout than to take the normal volume you would do and condense it into a much shorter period of time. In this video, I show you an arm workout with just 4 biceps and triceps exercises that you can complete in 8 minutes or less that will spark all kinds of arm gains. The setup for the workout is easy. All you need is a single pair of dumbbells, a bench that you can adjust to an incline and a pullup bar. You want to start with just two arm exercises, the hands out incline curl for your biceps and the incline dumbbell triceps extensions for the muscles on the other side of your arm. Choose a weight that you can perform 12 reps to failure on in your weaker of the two exercises. In this case it is the triceps extension for me. Start by performing a set of the hands out incline curls to failure. As soon as you cannot complete another rep lift the dumbbells up overhead and go right into your overhead triceps extensions. Here again, you will want to go until you cannot perform another quality rep and your triceps are fatigued. Back again to the incline curl where you want to perform as many reps as you can to failure. You keep bouncing back and forth between these two arm exercises until you can’t complete any more meaningful reps. This will happen rather fast because as you fatigue in one arm muscle group you will have a shorter rest time before having to complete reps for the other muscle. By virtue of this short rest time you will eventually fail out in both exercises. At this point however, you are only half way through your workout. This occurred in just 4 minutes for me. Move on immediately to the next pair of exercises in this 8 minute arm workout. Here you want to do a bicep chin curl hold. The goal here is to squeeze your biceps as hard as you can to maintain your position on the bar. Even as you fatigue you want to keep trying to contract your arms as hard as you can and fight the drop. Once you cannot hold it anymore, go right to the floor and crank out reps of the cobra pushup. You want to concentrate on squeezing the triceps hard at the top of every pushup. The benefit to this triceps exercise over others is that you finish with your arm in extension behind your body so you are actively contracting the long head of the triceps as well. Rep out and get back up on the bar again. Keep alternating these biceps and triceps exercises until you once again cannot perform any more meaningful reps of either exercise. It is an arm workout like this that can convince you of what I say all that time and that is, you can either work out long or hard but you cannot do both. Build muscular arms fast- http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW In order to build bigger arms you need to be sure you are focusing on building bigger triceps. It is said that the triceps occupy two thirds of the arms. Breaking it down even further, the long head of the triceps specifically is responsible for almost two thirds of the size of the triceps. This means that the tricep long head is critical to optimizing the overall size of your arms. In this video, I’m going to show you how to increase the size of the long head of the tricep by targeting it both in the stretch position with heavier weights and in the contracted position with lighter weights. Contrary to what some would advise you, you do not only want to train the triceps in positions of stretch for the long head activation. While this is a good differentiator between the function of the long head vs the lateral and medial heads of the triceps it does nothing to place the muscle in a fully contracted state. In order to fully contract the triceps you will need to get the upper arm into extension behind the body. This is because the long head is attached to the scapula and crosses the shoulder joint (unlike the other two heads of the triceps). Full activation and contraction of the muscle demands that the arm get into extension behind the body at the end of the movement. We can do this with the right selection of exercises. Now the important part of this concept is that while you are able to achieve a full contraction in this state, the strength of that contraction will not by optimal. This is due to something called active insufficiency. When a muscle is fully shortened across all of the joints that it crosses (as the triceps is when you straighten the elbow and extend the shoulder behind the torso), then the force production of that muscle is less. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be trying to include these type of exercises in your training. Again, I am going to argue that they are not only necessary but are needed to compliment the heavier exercises that you are doing to take advantage of the stretch reflex that occurs when doing the triceps movements with your arms over your head. So let’s get a game plan for how you are going to use this information to build bigger arms. First you want to use heavier weights and use exercises for your triceps that will help you to build size by getting your arms over your head. This includes, lying dumbbell triceps extensions, bodyweight tricep extensions, overhead plate extensions and rope pushaways. Each of these movements gets the humerus up and away from the point of attachment of the long head of the triceps on the scapula leading to a stretch on the muscle. The lighter weights can be reserved for the tricep kickbacks, cobra pushups, rowing tricep pushdowns among others. The key here is again to realize that while you may feel strong in the beginning of these exercises your strength will be limited when you approach complete contraction. Plan on using a weight that is going to still allow you to fully contract as you get towards the end range of motion. The combination of these two approaches will not only help you to focus your efforts on the long head of the triceps but to build much bigger arms. I actually tried it out, because I got so many questions about it. I did the work for you, so now you can learn from my experience and get the ripped body and abs you want without troubleshooting. Video Breakdown: 0:44 My conclusion about training everyday is... even though I could do biceps and triceps everyday, I couldn't lift heavy and my strength started to decrease. 1:40 The science behind doing it everyday says it is wrong, so I am speaking from my personal experience. 2:13 After two weeks of trying to workout biceps and triceps everyday, I started rotating doing each of those muscles every other day. I lowered the volume as well. I was able to do it for about 2 weeks, but I was extremely sore. 3:19 I still wasn't able to do mass building exercises... But I was able to get a pump or drive blood into that muscle. I didn't murder my biceps and triceps though, because I didn't have a lot of time to let them recover. 4:20 So can you work arms everyday? When it comes to muscle growth... do not go with super heavy weight, because your main goal should just be to get a good pump. ** My recommendation is to hit arms super hard at least one time a week, but use light weights the rest of the week. 6:04 So now I am back to training arms once to twice a week, but I am not seeing a huge change from when I was doing it everyday. In this part 2 video of my arm series, I will discuss the best tricep workout to hit every triceps head based on current scientific literature and our anatomical understanding of the arms. Although it’s important to know that all 3 tricep heads (long head, lateral head, and medial head) will be activated in all movements, we can emphasize the involvement of each of them by choosing the right exercises for each head of the triceps which in a way will provide “tricep head isolation”. These exercises will not only help with increasing tricep size and getting bigger triceps with that “horseshoe triceps” effect, they will also help in improving the overall definition of your triceps and allowing each head to grow in proportion with each other.
