Migrate to Oracle BI EE -- to tap Outstanding OLAP, Scorecard, KPI and mapping features
http://www.techgig.com/expert-speak/Business-Intelligence-Series-Session-3-Migrate-to-Oracle-BI-EE-to-tap-Outstanding-OLAP-Scorecard-KPI-and-mapping-features-325 Key benefits towards migrating to current OBIEE framework are in the areas of Technical Advancements, UI Integration, Security and data Integration and Business Analytics. Latest advancements in Supporting Technology helps in providing outstanding performance and stability.OBIEE suite helps you to revisit your analyses and dashboards. Oracle Weblogic Server available with the latest version of the suite provides the advantages of authentication, authorization, and directory integration. BI server is central to all Business Processes and provides a centralized data access to the Enterprise. The robust architecture in which it is built upon provide scalability, improved performance and operational ease. This provides reduced cost of operations and increased productivity. It has the capabilites of delivering the widest and most robust set of reporting and adhoc query solutioning. OBIEE suite integrates with the widest set of popular data sources, ETL tools, Business Applications and any ODBC compliant 3rd party Analytical tool. Thus it can access data from heterogeneous and popular relational and multidimensional data sources and major ERP and CRM applications from Oracle and SAP. The Oracle BI Server provides for parallel query execution, better memory management and high data throughput . This contributes to performance improvement and faster data access. The clustering and caching capabilities of BI server enables multiple servers to be clustered to provide session replication and automatic failover capabilities. But, this is not all ... Key questions which would be covered in the webinar: Why migrate to OBIEE? What are the latest OLAP features available? How does business benefits with the latest OBIEE suite? How does OBIEE suite compares with other BI Tools? How Does it provide data and security integration?

Big Data and NoSQL for Oracle DBAs: What You Need to Know
Big data and NoSQL allows us to scale to volumes that are not possible with traditional relational database systems at lower cost and in less time. The cost and size of storage has kept pace with our data requirements; however, transfer rates have not. Big data and NoSQL are architecture to solve this problem by bringing the compute to the data and not the other way around. During this presentation, you will learn what Big Data toolsets are and how they are different from relational database systems, including the Oracle In-Memory Database Option. PANELISTS: Michael Schrader is an Oracle Certified Professional and Certified Business Intelligence Professional from TDWI. He has been an Oracle DBA since V5, and produced the whitepaper “Understanding an OLAP Solution from Oracle for Oracle Corporation. Michael coauthored “Oracle Database Warehousing Unleashed,” and is the lead author for “Oracle Essbase & Oracle OLAP: The Guide to Oracle’s Multidimensional Solutions.” Arman Rawls is an Oracle Certified Professional and Neovera’s Senior Oracle Architect. He is the co-inventor for Healthcare Predictive Analysis Software. Arman specializes in RAC, disaster recovery architecture, data warehouse design, data integration and migration. He is a frequent speaker at Oracle Users Groups, Training Days, and instructor for PL/SQL and DBA courses. Learn more about our database services and expertise at www.neovera.com.

OBIEE 11g: Map Exercise
In this lesson you will learn to create an analysis, add and configure a map view. Map views allow you to show how your data is varying by Zip Code, City, State, Country, Continent or whatever geographical level you choose for the map. Note that although maps come bundled with OBIEE 11x there is additional licensing required for use. Also, maps come with limited data. If you want to utilize the full functionality of maps you will need to purchase NAVTEQ data or something similar to provide the geospatial data. For example: I want to see a map that represents sales by state. Each state would be color coded to range of sales.
