Use this Example to Write a Project Brief

05:50
Download the free Guide to Project Planning: http://bit.ly/2ezQ13v At its core, a project brief should communicate your project approach and the process your team will use to manage the project according to scope. If it’s handled with care and great consideration, a good brief should act as an agreement on project goals, scope, major deliverables, milestones, timing, activities, process, and even resources needed to deliver your product. If you take the time to create a good process around how your project brief and plan is built, and you consider all of those factors, you can create a great plan that will work for everyone. With the right amount of background information on your project’s scope and requirements, and with a good level of input and collaboration with your team and your clients, you can make a solid, workable plan that will guide everyone through your project, and it doesn’t have to be difficult to create. To many people, a project plan is a dry document that lists dates. To people who are invested in your project, the plan is the project guide that will dictate how you will get to project milestones, decisions, and eventually project completion. At a minimum, a project plan answers some basic questions about the project. Look at it this way: your plan should educate any reviewer— coworkers and clients included—on the logistics of the project. They trust that you’ve got this, so when reviewing the document, they truly believe that you’ve considered every possible risk. And if you have, it feels good to know that you’ve done a good job and you’re trusted. The first step in creating a good plan is writing up a good project brief to go over with the client. We’ve put together an example of a project brief in our free “Guide to Project Planning“, for you to download and use. And when you’re ready to create your Gantt chart, you’ll want to use the best and easiest web-based Gantt chart software out there. Scrum vs Kanban - What's the Difference? + FREE CHEAT SHEET

05:32
Scrum and Kanban have much in common - and some striking differences. Watch the video... and grab your FREE CHEAT SHEET. Download your FREE CHEAT SHEET: http://bit.ly/scrum-vs-kanban-cheatsheet If you've been wondering about the differences between Scrum and Kanban, you've come to the right place. Scum and Kanban are perhaps the best known of a number of Agile software development. They have much in common - and some striking differences. And don't forget to grab your copy of the Scrum vs Kanban Cheat Sheet. → SUBSCRIBE for a NEW EPISODE every WEDNESDAY: http://www.DevelopmentThatPays.com/-/subscribe Music: 260809 Funky Nurykabe: ccmixter.org/files/jlbrock44/29186 ------------------- 68. Scrum vs Kanban - What's the Difference? + FREE CHEAT SHEET Scrum and Kanban are perhaps the best known of a number of Agile software development frameworks. Let's break that down: Software Development, in very broad terms, looks like this: The Product Owner decides what to build, The Development Team builds it, and Customers use it, experience it, benefit from it in some way. What makes software development Agile is that value is delivered to the customer in small increments. And - importantly - feedback is gathered from customers and fed back into the process. It's the Product Owner's job to take input from customers - and from various Stakeholders - and organise it into a prioritised list of features and User Stories. The list is known as the Product Backlog. What happens between the Product Backlog and the Customer is what distinguishes Scrum from Kanban. As we'll see, each has its own routines and rituals. It's this person's job (see below) to help the Product Owner and Development Team to adopt and maintain good habits. In Scrum, the role is known as the Scrum Master. In Kanban, the role is known as the Agile Coach. Something that Scrum and Kanban have in common is that both are PULL systems. Without getting into two much detail, a pull system ensures that work gets from Product Backlog to Customer in the shortest possible time. A pull system also helps to uncover bottlenecks in the process, which helps to ensure that work gets from Product Backlog to Customer in the shortest possible time! As you'll see in a moment, Scrum and Kanban implement the pull system in two strikingly different ways. Scrum ----- Scrum teams work in a series of Sprints, most commonly two weeks in length. Each Sprint it proceeded by a Sprint Planning Meeting, run by the Scrum Master and attended by the Product Owner and the Development Team. Together they select high priority items from the Product Backlog that the Development Team believe it can commit to delivering in a single Sprint. This is the "pull" I was talking about earlier. The selected items are known as the SPRINT BACKLOG. For the next two weeks, the Development Team focuses on working through the items in the Sprint backlog - and ONLY those items in the Sprint backlog: in all but the most exceptional circumstances, any new requirements that arise have to wait for the following Sprint. It's common practice for Scum teams to use a board to track the progress of the work. It's called a Scrum Board... or an Agile Board... or even (slightly confusingly) a Kanban Board. Each day during the Sprint there is a Scrum Meeting: it's a stand up meeting where the team takes a maximum of 15 minutes to discuss progress and identify any "blockers". At the end of the Sprint, the work completed during the Sprint is packaged for release, and any incomplete items are returned to the Product Backlog. The Sprint ends with two rituals: The Sprint Review, which is a demonstration of new functionality to Stakeholders. The Sprint Retrospective, which is an examination of what went well, what went badly and what could be improved. The aim of the Retrospective is to ensure that the next sprint is more efficient and effective than the last. And that's Scrum! Kanban ------ Kanban does a few things differently. There's no two-week sprint: Kanban is a continuous process. And there's no Sprint Backlog; the "pull" system in Kanban happens in a different way, via Work In Progress (WIP) limits. If an Agile Board is useful for Scrum, it's a necessity for Kanban. Each column on the Kanban Board has a Work in Progress limit related to the team's capacity. For example, a team with two developers might set a limit between two and four items. The lower the better. Let's see the pull system in action: When testing of a particular feature is complete, the corresponding ticket moves to the "Done" column. The empty column is a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIaz-l1Kf8w&list=PLngnoZX8cAn8VEVJtgWUKyidEaV-mJKKe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3P44ZYXTBs

GOTO 2012 • Frankenbuilds; if Agile is so good, why are our Products so bad? • Gabrielle Benefield

46:30
This presentation was recorded at GOTO Aarhus 2012. #gotocon #gotoaar http://gotocon.com Gabrielle Benefield - Agile Trainer ABSTRACT It's not about building the product right, it's about building the right product. Scrum and Agile teams can go fast and deliver high quality code, yet the product still fails. When this happens people look around for a new framework, only to see that fail as well. Rather than continue to build more code faster, we need to look at the systemic reasons for failure. These are tied to a lack of deep understanding of the causes and impacts of the problem to be solved or opportunity to be exploited, unclear and unquantified goals, and a lack of validated learning with rapid user testing.' It doesn't matter if you use traditional methods, scrum or lean, if you don't set the right direction it won't matter which framework you use. https://twitter.com/gotocon https://www.facebook.com/GOTOConference http://gotocon.com

What is Nexus? An Introduction to the Framework for Scaling Scrum

55:06
Many organizations want to "scale agile," so that they can deliver more value in a given time frame. Ideally, a scaling initiative starts with one team using Scrum successfully. This team can act as a model for other teams. However, organizations tend to add more Scrum Teams hastily, and as a result, they overwhelm their ability to be agile because they tend to add more process and bureaucracy to manage those people. Agility scales successfully with a systematic, emergent, and managed initiative, and that starts with the teams. That is why Ken Schwaber the co-creator of Scrum and Scrum.org created the Nexus Framework. Nexus builds off of Scrum and is designed to enable multiple Scrum Teams to work together so that they can produce an integrated increment at least once every Sprint. It focuses on the key challenges of scaling agile delivery by encouraging transparency and a network among the teams. In this webinar, Patricia Kong, Scrum.org Product Owner of Enterprise Solutions and co-creator of Nexus provides an overview to the Nexus Framework, its principles and the thinking behind it. She will discuss how Nexus, like Scrum, promotes bottom-up intelligence to discover and emerge what works best for the teams and organization. She uses case studies as examples showing how Nexus can be used, and visit the recent updates to the Nexus Guide.

Why Agile Fails in Large Enterprises - Large Scale Agile Transformation

01:32:20
Many large-scale agile transformations are struggling. Some have failed. Others can’t figure out why scaled agile isn't working after multiple attempts. It’s easy to blame the people, the process, and the culture. And it’s especially easy to blame management. However, the underlying problem is that most large organizations weren’t built to be agile. You need a way to safely and pragmatically refactor your company into an organization that can adopt agile and sustain the transformation. Mike Cottmeyer introduces a framework for understanding the type of company in which you work, its delivery constraints, and likely challenges you’ll face in your large-scale agile transformation. Mike shares a strategy for establishing an end-state vision and operational model to guide your transformation. Finally, he defines an approach for incrementally introducing change, measuring outcomes, and sustaining those changes. Download the Permethrin Fact Sheet PDF What is permethrin? It is a stable (synthetic) form of an insecticidal compound produced by the chrysanthemum flower. It is commonly used to treat lice (Nix 1% shampoo) and scabies infections (5% cream). It biodegrades quickly in contact with soil and water. It is odorless and will not stain clothing. How well does it work? It has been used as a clothing treatment to prevent bites from ticks, flies, and mosquitoes since the 1970s, and used by the military since the 1990s. It provides a quick tick knock-down effect – both repels and kills. A URI study found that people wearing permethrin-treated sneakers and socks were 73.6 times less likely to have a tick bite than those wearing untreated footwear. Each at-home treatment lasts for roughly 3-4 weeks (with washing!). Commercially-treated clothes can last up to 70 washes. Should I be concerned about using this chemical? Permethrin is over 2,250 times more toxic to ticks than humans. Put directly on the skin, typically less than 1% of active ingredient is absorbed into the body; DEET can be absorbed at over 20 times that rate. Exposure risk of permethrin-treated clothing to toddlers is 27 times below the EPA's Level of Concern (LOC). A 140-pound person would have no adverse health effects if exposed to 32 grams of permethrin/day. There is less than 1 gram of permethrin in an entire bottle of clothing treatment. Permethrin is pregnancy category B (showing no evidence of harm to fertility or fetus). **Caution: Permethrin won’t hurt humans or dogs but it is harmful to bees, fish, and aquatic insects – do not spray clothing near flowers or water sources. Do not allow cats near permethrin-treated clothing until it has fully dried. Ammonia refrigeration. Presentation part 1 urdu hindi

06:25
AMMONIA Ammonia or azane is a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen with the formula NH3. The simplest pnictogen hydride, ammonia is a colorless gas with a characteristic pungent smell. It is a common nitrogenous waste, particularly among aquatic organisms, and it contributes significantly to the nutritional needs of terrestrial organisms by serving as a precursor to food and fertilizers. Ammonia, either directly or indirectly, is also a building block for the synthesis of many pharmaceutical products and is used in many commercial cleaning products. GLYCOL ethylene glycol, propylene glycol is able to lower the freezing point of water, and so it is used as aircraft de-icing fluid. Water-propylene glycol mixtures dyed pink to indicate the mixture is relatively nontoxic are sold under the name of RV or marine antifreeze. Heat Exchanger A heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between a solid object and a fluid, or between two or more fluids.
