Why You Need to be Using a Sauna - TOP 7 BENEFITS

Sauna use has been around for hundreds of years, but modern science is only beginning to scratch the surface on why heat therapy is so beneficial for your health. In this video I am going to show you the top 7 benefits of using a sauna. Benefit 1: Saunas relieve stress Most regular sauna users, including myself cite stress relief as the number one benefit of sauna use. In our adrenaline filled, go-go world, it is nice to just block out 15-20 minutes in a hot sauna and block out all external stimulus. I always emerge from sauna session feeling less stressed, more energy, and an overall feeling of calm. Benefit 2: Improved Endurance Just today I was in the sauna and checked my heart rate after about 15 minutes, and it was at 120 beats per minute. That is the equivalent of moderate exercise on a treadmill. Think of using the the sauna as a “free” cardio workout. In fact, Over the course of a nine-week study, six male runners undertook a series of three 3-week training blocks: one where every training session was followed with a 30-min sauna session, a “washout” period to eliminate any confounding variables, and a control period with the same training but no sauna use. After each training block, the runners completed a treadmill run to exhaustion at personal-record 5k pace. Regular sauna use resulted in a 30% increase in time to exhaustion, which, according to the authors of the study, would translate to about a 2% improvement in time in an actual race. Benefit 3: Saunas help detoxify your body Maybe you’ve heard of people saying they need to sweat out the alcohol in a sauna after a long night of a drinking. Turns out, they weren’t far from the truth. If you want to rid your body of toxic agents such as lactic acid, sodium, and uric acid that routinely occur in the body. The sauna may be just want the doctor ordered. The Increased circulation also improves blood flow and blood oxygenation. Enhanced oxygen levels help dissolve toxins in the blood. Benefit 4: Sauna Use has been linked to decreased Heart disease Most of us know that one of the leading causes of death in the world is heart disease. Heart disease runs in my family, so any preventative measures I can take, I do. In an exhaustive study: Researchers from the University of Eastern Finland tracked 2,300 middle-aged men for an average of 20 years. They categorized the men into three groups according to how often they used a sauna each week. The men spent an average of 14 minutes per visit baking in 175° F heat. Over the course of the study, 49% of men who went to a sauna once a week died, compared with 38% of those who went two to three times a week and just 31% of those who went four to seven times a week. Frequent visits to a sauna were also associated with lower death rates from cardiovascular disease and stroke. Benefit 5: Saunas help you sleep better Do you have trouble falling or staying asleep? The evidence would say that for most people the answer is a resounding yes. With the over the counter and prescription sleep aid business booming, most people are having trouble getting a good night’s rest. Research has shown that a deeper, more relaxed sleep can result from sauna use. In addition to the release of endorphins, body temperatures, which become elevated in the late evening, fall at bedtime. This slow, relaxing decline in endorphins is key in facilitating sleep. Benefit 6: Sauna use helps decrease muscle soreness I do my best to stay active. Working out, participating in rec leagues, and chasing my 4 year old son around. My body gets beat up pretty bad. When that happens I turn to the sauna. Whether you are a weekend warrior or a pro athlete, jumping in the sauna will help your aching muscles recover. The high heat of the sauna releases endorphins, and creates a tranquilizing effect on your muscles. The increased blood flow increases your circulation and can help in the healing of minor bruises. Benefit 7: Saunas can help fight illness As I record this video we are about to head directly into cold and flu season. German researchers have found that regular sauna use can reduce incidences of cold and influenza. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "8 Reasons Why Passive Income is Better Than a 9 to 5 Job" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGvdJDiIx_w -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Tokyo Mens-Only Capsule Hotel & Lounge Chair Stay Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN
We're back at another capsule hotel in Tokyo and this time is a retro one ー and it's men only! (And we'll answer the question of why?) The Salaryman World of the 1970s is still alive at this capsule hotel in Okachimachi, Tokyo. It's a throwback to an era when men worked late and women stayed at home. Although there are now women-only capsule hotels and pods that take both men and women, the capsule hotel and sauna we're visiting is still men's only and has no desire to change ー and that's its attraction! It's authentic. Since the tourist boom to Japan started in 2014, new capsule hotels have been popping up in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto that cater specifically to the needs of tourists. The modern decor and new hotel-like services raise the price for a stay, but Spa Resort President is no such place. It's a refuge for guys, very few foreigners and a unique feeling of being trapped in time. Privacy is minimal, the bath is excellent and the food is outstanding! It's what Japanese guys are used to. I have to admit, it's not an experience for everyone. It seems perfect for backpackers or people who just need a pad to crash -- guys only -- but for this episode, we all get a look inside and see what an all male capsule hotel is like. Leave a comment and tell me what you think? Would you stay here? ▶︎ Where is this Capsule Hotel? Steam of Life (Miesten vuoro) TRAILER
STEAM OF LIFE Naked Finnish men sit in the sauna and speak straight from their heart. In the warmth of rusty stoves these men cleanse themselves both physically and mentally. The film travels through Finland and the camera joins men in many different saunas to let us hear touching stories about love, death, birth and friendship. In all of its simplicity camera records the landscapes, saunas and men in almost magical pictures. The presence of the characters and the depth of the emotion reaches the limit where it is almost intolerable for the viewer to watch. This film reveals the naked souls of these men exceptionally intimately and creates a poetic portrayal of Finnish men. Health Benefits of Saunas | Dr. Weston
https://youtu.be/odHe6KMnxI8 Visit http://www.sunwarrior.com/news Dr Weston cranks up the heat this week. Right now there’s tremendous concern over global warming, but it may be time to turn up the heat individually even if we shouldn’t on a global scale. There are a number of effective ways for you to “feel the heat.” Saunas of all different types, hot tubs, and steam baths, each of these has its own unique advantages, but the Doc will share some benefits that are common to all of these forms of body heating. Why would an otherwise normal person even want to cook, bake, broil, or baste themselves anyway? Here are a few good reasons. It’s relaxing. Face it, we live in a stressful world, one which can be uncomfortable and even unhealthy. In fact, locking out the world for a few minutes to decompress, sweat, and meditate provides a tranquility that is at the top of most people’s list. It can quite literally melt away the cares of the day. Recent research has verified that major health benefits from sauna time are not just “feeling good” or a simple placebo, but real, tangible health boosting that can even be lifesaving. It appears that the more time spent in the glorified sweat box the better the result. Daily for at least 20 minutes seems to provide the maximum benefit. Middle aged men who sauna daily cut their chances of dying from a heart condition in half. Even a couple sessions a week lowered the incidence by over 25%. What’s more impressive is the finding that death from all causes is decreased by 40%. The Journal of the American Medical Association verifies these claims, though the actual mechanism is not fully understood. Here’s an incomplete list of a number of documented health benefits that can be derived by regular sauna sessions. - Heat is analgesic and helpful in dealing with the pain and stiffness of arthritis as well as relaxing tight muscles. - Relieves stress and encourages tranquility, making for a deeper more restful sleep. - Boosts metabolism and burns calories encouraging healthy weight loss. - Can double the normal heart rate adding to cardiovascular health. - Increases core body temperature, effectively giving you a short term fever helping to fight illnesses like colds and flues. - Adding aromatherapy helps clear the sinuses and open the lungs. - Provides a great time for social interaction or meditation. - And finally, saunas just plain old feel good. There are a many different ways to provide heat in a sauna: coals, hot rocks, heaters, and the newer forms of infrared that are touted to provide even more benefits. To some the sauna is a cure-all, a way of life, an addiction, almost a religion. Dr Weston simply says, “Give it a try, because heat does a body good.” -- Subscribe to our channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=sunwarriortribe -- Visit us at: http://www.sunwarrior.com/ Like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/sunwarrior Follow us on Instagram: http://instagram.com/sunwarriortribe ‪Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/Sunwarrior Hang out with us on Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Sunwarrior/posts Follow us on Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/sunwarriortribe/

Men enjoy bathing at ancient Damascus hammam - 2014
Syrian men have for centuries been bathing in traditional hammams, or bathhouses. The tradition continues in Damascus today - and provides a brief escape from the turmoil of a country in civil war. STORYLINE: Here in the Al-Malik al-Zahir bathhouse in the old city of Damascus, the timeless tradition of public bathing continues. It is hard to imagine the conflict raging elsewhere in Syria, when here all is tranquillity. The sound of splashing water, the patter of wooden clogs, men's quiet conversation. The hammam is a tradition that goes back centuries and still follows the same routine. Bathers change out of their clothes, wrap a cloth round their waist and put on a pair of wooden clogs, or "kabkabs". Attendants hand each bather a bowl containing soap and a sponge. Bathers then shower before progressing into the inner steam room. The owner and manager Bassam Kabab says the Al-Malik al-Zahir hammam is more than a thousand years old. "Al-Malik al-Zahir bathhouse is considered the oldest Hammam in Syria and it might be the oldest in the world," he says. "What I am sure of hundred percent is that it is the oldest in Syria. It was built in 985 A.D. which means it is 1,029 years old." Once in the steam room, some bathers choose to have an attendant give them an invigorating exfoliating back rub, or a relaxing massage. At the end, swaddled in fresh robes to dry off, bathers relax with a hot mint tea and a hookah pipe, known an argilah, a water pipe used for smoking flavoured tobacco. Although the hammam still attracts locals, tourists no longer visit due to the Syrian conflict. "There are two kinds of customers of the bathhouse: locals and tourists. Nowadays only locals visit the Hammam because tourism is not like in the old days. In winter, locals used to come to the Hammam, while in the spring and summer most of our customers used to be tourists, both Arabs and foreigners," Kabab says. The Romans introduced public bath houses to Syria when the land was part of the Roman Empire and the tradition has remained popular ever since. The hammam became an important place for the local community and there used to be hundreds in Damascus alone. But as modern bathrooms in Syrian homes replace public bathing, the popularity of hammams is waning and there are now fewer than 20 left in the capital, according to research by travel writer Richard Boggs. The Al-Malik al-Zahir hammam still attracts loyal customers, however: "I have been coming to the bathhouse my whole life. I have done it for the last 30 or 40 years. It is bliss for me. When I have pain in my feet or back, I come here to get refreshed. I love coming to the bathhouse," says one regular, Khalil. Although the bathhouse is a tranquil haven, it is still affected by the turmoil of Syria's civil war, which has killed more than 190,000 people and left much of the country in ruins. "We have problems with the water and electricity, even with the fuel. But we are managing to solve this problem and run the bathhouse," says Kabab. Although the Syrian capital has been heavily protected by Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces, rebel mortar attacks on government-controlled areas have become daily occurrences. For his customers, however, Kabab's hammam can provide some respite from the world outside. You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you... Finnish Sauna Experience! - Basics of Finnish Sauna
Finnish sauna experience is probably one the best things to try in Finland and in this video I will explain some of the basics of Finnish sauna. Going to sauna is very common weekly habit for Finns. Chances are you will be going to a Finnish sauna yourself at some point so after watching this video, you'll know everything you need to know. There are something I didn't cover in the video, such as using vihta. Vihta is not something that is commonly used in sauna. It's more like a midsummer special item. I will probably make a part two of this video to explain more of the background of sauna and some other stuff. ✅ Get free access to my Basics of Spoken Finnish course and 2 free months to Skillshare: http://skl.sh/2DTWMa6 ✅ Subscribe to join the Finntastic Squad ⇉ http://bit.ly/SubToAleksi Playlists for you to enjoy: ✅ Street Interviews with Finns: http://bit.ly/2y7Cgz8 ✅ Videos about Dating in Finland: http://bit.ly/2BL9WF2 ✅ What do foreigners think about Finland: http://bit.ly/2BVn7DZ ✅ Finnish people & culture: http://bit.ly/2B0l9ol ✅Fun & Useful FInnish language: http://bit.ly/2B0l9ol ✅ Things You Need to Know about Finland: http://bit.ly/GreatFin ✅ The Education System of Finland: http://bit.ly/2y80gCa Follow me on social media between videos: ✅ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/home ✅ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aleksihimself/ ✅ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aleksihimself/ ✅ Join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/FQpfZBZ Music:

Start the day in Salo, making my way towards Helsinki. Got another free night at the last hostess’ mom’s place which is about 40 km in the direction of Helsinki. Stopped at a coffee shop in Salo and then went towards Suomusjärvi. The sun was already setting at 3.15 PM. Some DJI Spark drone flying. Arrived at Anu’s place and the house was amazing. Not really visible in the video but when I came in I was amazed by the old look and feel of the house but still cozy and beautiful, almost stuck in time. Just like the sauna which we had to warm up using wood and fire. Then we went for a real Finnish sauna experience which was truly amazing. We went up to around 80C which wasn’t too bad but when Totti (Mathilda’s brother, son of Anu, the hostess) threw some water on the stones, it was scorching hot! But luckily I survived. Afterwards we had some nice Finnish dinner. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had on this trip and I have to thank Yvette Barten, one of my fans, for making it possible! Thank you! Boost Metabolism: Steamroom vs. Sauna - Which is Better? - Thomas DeLauer
Boost Metabolism: Sauna vs. Steam Room- Which is better? Find out how to elevate your mood, boost your metabolism, detoxify your body and reduce muscle stiffness. Learn this and more at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com You may have heard discussion around the benefits of the sauna and the steam room, but is one better for you than another? There is only so much time in the day to spend at the gym, so we want to be sure to get the most out of what we do in the least amount of time. Saunas have been around for thousands of years. Finland has a sauna tradition that has been around for two thousand years strong, and many attribute their endurance and longevity to the time they spend in the sauna. Saunas and steam rooms are touted to induce mental and physical relaxation, and both induce large amounts of sweating, which has health benefits such as releasing toxins from the body. So where does the difference lie? Saunas are dry heat whereas steam rooms are at 100% humidity. One of the biggest differences has to do with temperature - when a room is humid we feel as though it is hotter than it actually is. Due to this, saunas are able to be kept at a much higher temperature than steam rooms. Saunas range from 160 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, wheres steam rooms are at 110 to 120. In order to understand how these differences would lead to the best option of the two, we must first understand the benefits of both saunas and steam rooms. Benefit 1: Increased blood flow Blood vessels enlarge when your body temperature rises, allowing increased delivery of oxygen and nutrients throughout your body. After particularly vigorous exercise, try to get 15-30 minutes in the sauna or steam room to reap the benefits of this increased nutrient and oxygen delivery to your muscles. The increased blood flow allows an acceleration of tissue repair post workout. The faster you heal the better you feel and more able you are to take your next workout to a higher level. Benefit 2: Increased metabolism and physical endurance Increase the temperature and you will increase your metabolism, which is simply how quickly your body burns calories, due to this heat. Your body works harder to try and keep itself cool, thereby burning calories at a higher rate. Benefit 3: Inflammation Exposure to the high heat results in a release of noradrenaline, adrenaline and cortisol, which all have anti-inflammatory properties. This can help in mobility and pain, temporarily relieving stiffness post workout. Many people suffering with arthritis have reported relief after spending time in the sauna or steam room. Benefit 4: Sweating Sweating helps to lower blood pressure by secreting salts, detoxify by expelling toxins through our pores and helps to increase caloric expenditure. Benefit 5: Mood We are all familiar with the pleasant mood that you feel after going to the sauna or steam room. People report feeling less anxiety, increased relaxation, improved general mood and even increased alertness after trips to the sauna and steamroom. Why does this happen? 1. Women's minds are constantly full of thoughts like these: Hey,is he ignoring me? While he's gazing at me... is he dreaming of someone else? Wouldn't this imported bra/panties set look better on someone besides me? Men who say they love you but never follow through... Forget them! I just want to escape the real world... Sauna use linked to longer life
Whats New - Source: Sauna use linked to longer life, fewer fatal heart problems. By Beverly Merz, Executive Editor, Harvard Women's Health Watch. After shoveling for days, breaking up ice dams, and now shivering in this week’s frigid temperatures, I wouldn’t mind sitting in a sauna for a bit. A new report in JAMA Internal Medicine makes this pastime even more appealing: regularly spending time in a sauna may help keep the heart healthy and extend life. Researchers from the University of Eastern Finland tracked 2,300 middle-aged men for an average of 20 years. The results don’t surprise Dr. Thomas H. Lee, a cardiologist at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital and founding editor of the Harvard Heart Letter. The cardiovascular effects of sauna have been well documented in the past. It lowers blood pressure, and there is every reason to believe that its effects are good for blood vessels, says Dr. Lee. http://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/sauna-use-linked-longer-life-fewer-fatal-heart-problems-201502257755 Be sure to visit us at Twitter http://[email protected] link: http://stayingfittoday.com whatsnewmonty

Joke : Three men are sitting naked in the sauna. Suddenly there is a beeping sound. The first man presses his forearm and the beeping stops. The others look at him questioningly. "That's my pager," he says. "I have a microchip under the skin of my arm." A few minutes later a phone rings. The second man lifts his palm to his ear. When he finishes he explains, "That's my mobile phone. I have a microchip in my hand." The third man, feeling decidedly low-tech, steps out of the sauna. In a few minutes he returns with a piece of toilet paper extending from his rear. The others raise their eyebrows. "I'm getting a Fax," he explains If you find this joke or video innapropriate, please let us know! If you want us to add a joke, let us know! Does a Sauna Benefit You or Improve Fat Loss?
Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Get the Apparel I Wear at http://www.Hylete.com Does a Sauna Benefit You or Improve Fat Loss? - Thomas DeLauer I'm about to totally wow you with the science of how sitting in a sauna for just a short amount of time after a workout or in general can totally shift the way that your body metabolizes energy and shift the way that your body built muscle and burns fat. When we're looking at how a sauna affects the body, we're looking at something known as hyperthermic conditioning. Hyperthermic conditioning is just like the name implies. We're conditioning ourselves to be a little bit more exposed to a higher temperature. With hyperthermic conditioning, we're acclimating our bodies to heat independent of aerobic activity. Normally if you go out for a run or you do some kind of aerobic exercise, your core body temperature is going to go up, simply because you're moving. With hyperthermic conditioning, we're trying to elicit the same response, but without the actual activity. We're just trying to get the core body temperature up and still trying to get the same benefits, and now, the science is showing the benefits are there. Basically what we're doing is we're trying to build a generalized tolerance to physiological stress by adapting to heat. Just like anything, we have an adaptation process that occurs, and when we expose ourselves to a lot of heat, we do have this adaptation that occurs at a cellular level and different metabolic levels. Now the biggest one that we probably know of already is the increase in blood flow and plasma volume. This one kinda goes without saying. When you have more heat, your blood vessels dilate, you get more blood flow, yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but there's a lot of really cool stuff coming out in the way of what are called heat shock proteins. Now the studies that I'm gonna reference in this video, and believe me, there's quite a few of them, are going to really be centered around heat shock proteins and what these heat shock proteins do for not only your recovery, but your overall metabolism. A heat shock protein is a highly conserved protein that sits inside of a cell. Every single organism has them and every single cell has heat shock proteins. They're proteins that sit in a reserve mode, waiting to get acted upon by high stress, for instance, high heat. That's why they're called heat shock proteins. When our cells are exposed to heat shock, these proteins are released, and they protect what are called the folding and unfolding of these different proteins inside of a cell. Inside of a cell, when you build a cell, you have proteins that fold on top of each other. Now sometimes they unfold, sometimes they fold, so these heat shock proteins stabilize them. They hold them in place so that they have a little bit more time to recover when exposed to extreme conditions like high heat. References 1) Li Z and Srivastava P. (n.d.). How saunas keep your blood pressure low
Heading to the sauna isn’t just a great way to detox or relax—it’s also an easy way to manage your blood pressure, says new research. In the study, 1,621 men—none of whom initially had high blood pressure—were divided into three groups based on time they spent in the sauna (once a week, two to three times a week, or four to seven times a week). After 22 years, researchers found 15.5 percent of the participants had high blood pressure—but the more time the men spent in the sauna, the better the outcome. The risk of high blood pressure was 24 percent lower for the men who went to the sauna two to three times a week, and nearly 50 percent lower for those who went four to seven times a week. The risk of high blood pressure was 24 percent lower for the men who went to the sauna two to three times a week, and nearly 50 percent lower for those who went four to seven times a week.So what made the men who sweat it out more often healthier than those who didn’t go as often? According to the press release, when the body temperature rises, blood vessels widen, the function of the endothelium (which lines the interior surface of the blood vessels) improves, the body relaxes, and you sweat—all things that help lower blood pressure.Because it’s such an easy way to help give your heart a healthy boost, what are you waiting for—a special someone for a steamy date night? Here’s how to have an ultra-detoxifying sauna experience. And if you’d rather head to a salt room, they have some impressive benefits too.

Hi, this is Larry Hobbs @ FatNews.com. http://fatnews.com/ https://twitter.com/fatnews Sauna use 2-3 times per week associated with 24% lower risk of death over 20 years Sauna use 4-7 times per week associated with 40% lower risk of death over 20 years Finnish men who used a sauna 2-3 times per week were 24% less likely to die during an average follow-up of 20.7 years compared to men who used a sauna once a week according to a recent study. Cardiovascular Death Men who used a sauna 2-3 times per week compared to men who used it once a week were also: 22% less likely to die from Sudden Cardiac Death (although the difference was not statistically significant, p=0.12 meaning that there was a 12% chance that this difference was due to random chance) 23% less likely to die from Fatal Coronary Heart Disease 27% less likely to die from Fatal Cardiovascular Disease Finnish men who used a sauna 4-7 times per week were 40% less likely to die during an average follow-up of 20.7 years compared to men who used a sauna once a week according to a recent study. Cardiovascular Death Men who used a sauna 4-7 times per week compared to men who used it once a week were also: 63% less likely to die from Sudden Cardiac Death 48% less likely to die from Fatal Coronary Heart Disease 50% less likely to die from Fatal Cardiovascular Disease After Adjusting for Cardiovascular Risk Factors This was after adjusting for cardiovascular risk factors including age, body mass index, systolic blood pressure, serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level, smoking, alcohol consumption, previous myocardial infarction, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiorespiratory fitness, resting heart rate, physical activity, and socioeconomic status. Sauna Duration: More Than 19 Minutes Best Compared to men who used the sauna for less than 11 minutes per session, those who used the sauna for more than 19 minutes per session were: 52% less likely to die from Sudden Cardiac Death 36% less likely to die from Fatal Coronary Heart Disease 24% less likely to die from Fatal Cardiovascular Disease 17% less likely to die from Any Cause (although this difference was not statistically significant, p=0.82 meaning that there was a 82% chance that this difference was due to random chance) Conclusion “This study provides prospective evidence that sauna bathing is a protective factor against the risk of [sudden cardiac death], fatal [coronary heart disease], fatal [cardiovascular disease], and all-cause mortality events in the general male population,” the authors concluded. “Our results suggest that sauna bathing is a recommendable health habit, although further studies are needed to confirm our results in different population settings.” Subjects: 2315 Men Followed for 20 Years The study involved 2315 middle-aged men (age range, 42-60 years) from Eastern Finland who were part of the Finnish Kuopio Ischemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study and were followed for an average of 20.7 years. SOUNDBITE: (Czech) Fradisek Horak, Urban Sauna enthusiast: "It's the winter and it's the centre of Prague and I can go into a sauna and jump out into this little pool outside. We go to drink here around the corner. So this was quite unexpected, that you can go to a sauna here in front of the National Theatre." 9. Wide of man stoking sauna fire 10. Tight of fire in stove 11. SOUNDBITE (English) Marcela Strakova, Curator of Urban Sauna: "It's performance, it's marketing, it's also fun for people. We try to work with people who walk on the square here, so it's also for passers-by that they just find out that such activities happen." 12. Man jumping into cooling pool 13. Wide of pan of glass wall of sauna 14. Tilt up sauna as man walks inside STORYLINE: Czechs wanting to escape the cold in Prague this winter are enjoying a novel way to warm up. For just two euros (2.64 US dollars) an hour, they can get a blast of sizzling heat in an outdoor public sauna. The National Theatre is hosting the sauna on its plaza. Sauna-goers can buy tickets on the theatre's website at the same time as they buy performance tickets. Or if there's space they can buy a ticket on the spot, as Fradisek Horak and his friends did on Friday. The group was basking in the 37 degree Celsius (100 degree Fahrenheit) heat after going for a drink in a bar round the corner. Horak said coming across the sauna was "quite unexpected" - exactly what organisers say they were hoping for. The sauna's curator Marcela Strakova said it was designed to be an unexpected treat for passers-by. But it's also more than a way for people to let off - and enjoy - a little steam. Strakova said the sauna is meant to be performance art with the sauna-goers as the actors. This is the second year the theatre has hosted the "Urban Sauna." Demand has been so high this time that the organisers have extended its run for an extra week until the middle of January.
