The Basics of Good Article Content Structure

03:40
http://toonchooi.com/AuthorityWebsites.html Free Report: "How To Build Authority Websites" The Basics of Good Content Article Structure http://NichePLRNewsletter.com Having good content structure is crucial to writing content that people can easily consume and understand. Having a good structure also makes the writing process easier for you. Here are the main elements to well-structured content. 1.The Introduction The first sentence of any article needs to be carefully crafted to catch attention. People should instantly be able to grasp what the gist of the article is just by reading the first sentence. Likewise, the first paragraph should elaborate on the first sentence and get people interested in reading the rest of the content. 2.Let Them Know What to Expect Before jumping into the meat of the content, let them know what to expect in the rest of the content. This can be as detailed as "we'll cover X, Y and Z now" to as simple as "here's how to do X." The most important thing is to prepare people to receive whatever you're about to discuss. 3.Main Talking Points Go through each of your talking points, one by one. Make sure to separate your content into easily digestible chunks. Don't just write a 500-word article from top to bottom, but break it up into subsections and subheads. Also make sure that you word as much of your content in "what's in it for you" terms. Users should feel like you're speaking directly to them. It often helps to present a few different solutions, angles or opinions in your main points. If you're talking about investing for example, give them a few different techniques they can use. Give examples. The more theoretical your article is, the less likely they are to remember it a few weeks from now. Examples help take something that's theoretical and turn it into something more concrete. People are much more likely to remember an example demonstrating a principle than just the theory. 4.The Conclusion The last paragraph of your article is the conclusion. The conclusion should sum up everything you just wrote about, plus perhaps reiterate the most important point. Sometimes it's best to leave the user with a concrete piece of action they can immediate take at the end of the conclusion. At other times, the conclusion just wraps up the whole article nicely. If you're selling a product, the conclusion is where you want to put your call to action. Tell people exactly what it is you want them to do. Be assertive and make sure to recap all the main benefits to them taking action now rather than later. These are the main parts of good content structure. Following this structure will help give your users a good sense of what to expect from your article and keep them engaged as they're reading. It'll also make it easier for you to organize your thoughts into a coherent chronological order before you start writing.

Quality Blog Writing: Effective Blog Article Structure

02:45
Freelance writers write many different types of blog articles. These may include recipes, "How To" guides, product reviews, short stories, novel excerpts, etc. and each type of article will have a different structure. Do you want your blog to look like a brainstorming session or a well-crafted piece of writing? It is the structure of your article that will give you a framework to support your content. Once you have that, you are ready to start writing. Every article is somewhat unique. Writers have their own flavor that seasons what they write and identifies them as the author of the content. But no matter how unique, there are essential elements to every quality blog.

Article Structure Development

07:40
Article Structure Development Rather than go in-depth on each aspect of structure and flow, this post shows you how to format an article that flows well and is properly structured. Article Title: Anatomy of an Article To write a great article demands that you observe the correct structure and construct it in a way that flows well. To accomplish this, it is essential that you conduct research, choose your paragraph subheadings wisely, write at least two body paragraphs and tie things in a nice, neat bow with a conclusion that summarizes and sometimes provides supplemental information. Keep reading to learn this process. Research Conduct research before you write a single word. Once you know about what you intend to write specifically, develop a loose outline – whether it is in your head or written down makes no difference. When you embark on writing without any thought to the order in which you intend to present material, it shows with material that comes across as random and unfocused. Write the introduction With your outline nailed down and your focus intact, you are ready to introduce your readers to the topic. In general terms, tell them about what you are going to write. Think of it in terms of how you act when you first meet someone new; you say who you are, shake hands and say something general about yourself. Never introduce something in the intro that you do not intend to address in the body paragraphs.

Writing Skills: The Paragraph

14:33
http://www.engvid.com The paragraph is the most important unit of a well-written essay. The paragraph has a specific structure and standards that make it effective and enjoyable to read. In this writing lesson we will look at how to construct good paragraphs and improve writing with better flow and clarity. After the lesson, take the quiz: http://www.engvid.com/writing-skills-paragraph/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, welcome again to www.engvid.com. I'm Adam. Today's lesson is about the paragraph. It's a writing lesson, and I want to show people what a paragraph is and how to construct one, what to do, what not to do so you can write very clear, very tight paragraphs. This is especially important for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT students but everybody has to follow the exact same rules. Now before I even begin, I must say that I'm talking mostly about academic writing or even business writing. Creative writing like novels or short stories, anything fiction, you can do anything you want. Only always remember: somebody has to read what you wrote so it has to be clear. But academic essays, for example, certain rules you have to follow; you have to be very careful about them. So let's begin. In terms of like the actual way a paragraph looks: you have to indent or skip a line. So let me just make sure you understand what an indent is. This is an indent, the first line a little bit pushed in or you can make sure you skip a line between paragraphs. But don't do both. If you skip a line, don't indent. Okay? That's the main thing. Now, that's in terms of the way it looks. In terms of content -- and this, I can't stress this enough -- very, very, very important: one central idea in one paragraph. Okay? I've seen many people, I've seen many essays where you start a paragraph talking about one thing, and then you go off on a tangent and talk about something completely unrelated. So for example: if you start a paragraph and you're talking about apples, continue to talk about apples. If you go to oranges, that's maybe okay because you're still talking about fruit. But if you start with apples, go to oranges, go to bananas, and then end up with monkeys in space there's a bit of a problem; the reader has no idea what you're talking about. One paragraph, one central idea. Now, make sure that you tell the reader what this central idea is. This is your thesis statement. Okay? It's a very general sentence. All it does is introduce the topic of the paragraph, nothing else. All the details comes after. So speaking of details, we'll talk about details in detail, but all other ideas, all the other sentences, all your sentences with the details must directly relate back to the main idea. So let's say here is your thesis statement; very general, every sentence after must relate back to that thesis statement. Okay? You can't go off to another idea. Everything must support this, must talk about the same topic. Very important. Okay? How long should your paragraph be? Technically, a paragraph could be one sentence, but in an academic essay that rarely happens. But it could be any length you want, as long as you're still on that one topic, as long as you still have things to write and things to say about that topic, say it. If you have four sentences, fine; if you have 10 sentences, also okay. Again, for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT students: four, five sentences should be your limit. You can't be too long because you don't have time and you're going to start making mistakes. So now, the details. Very important to have lots of details. Why is this topic important to your overall idea of your essay? Not only tell me what is the topic, what is the thesis statement of the paragraph, make sure you explain to me why this is important to the general idea of the essay. Give me your reasons. Now, why is it important? And then reasons, why you think what you're saying supports this idea. Examples, always use examples because giving me the reasons is okay; examples make me see exactly what you're trying to say. Very easy for me to understand what you're trying to say. Now, in terms of flow, in terms of the way the reader can approach the paragraph, you have to have bridges. What is, what do bridges mean? Basically, when you have one idea in this sentence, you must connect it to the next sentence, you must connect it to the next sentence. Every sentence must have a link to the next sentence. This creates flow, makes it much easier to read and understand, and it keeps you on the one topic. Now, key terms. If you're talking about something specific and you have to use a key term, use it as many times as you need to. Otherwise, avoid repetition. Try not to use the same word more than once in one paragraph. Okay? For example: if you're using the word "moreover" in the paragraph, don't use it, don't use "moreover" again -- use "in addition to", use "furthermore", "another", etc. Try to avoid using one word more than once, especially in the same paragraph.

Understanding Cigars

Start your free trial today, at http://www.squarespace.com/rogue to get 10% off your first purchase. INT. DIMLY LIT ROOM -- NIGHT We see Jason standing eager, faced towards a wall. Bundles of newspaper structure the room, stalagmites of old media. Looking closer we notice he's face-to-face with a poster which appears to be crudely taped to a full-body mirror. There's an uncomfortable silence. CUT TO: over-the-shoulder, the poster is J. Jonah Jameson and the eyes are torn out. Jason's eyes are perfectly positioned in the reflection. He grabs at the poster and sheers a wedge down the face, revealing a now-lit cigar in Jason's mouth. It's an identical match. JASON (triumphant, but also kind of a whisper) Not today, Peter... No, today I become something so much more. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Watch the unedited footage from this episode here: https://patreon.com/posts/16158691 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Much love to Roma Craft Tobac for sharing their expertise and generous use of their facilities. Content and Style of Feature Articles

19:23
This lesson links quite closely to the previous lesson, but focuses primarily on various writing styles and content of feature articles. It is important for the learners to realise that magazines need to include articles that readers enjoy or find interesting to read. However, deciding on content is only part of the challenge: writers also need to choose a writing style that will appeal to the audience. Learners are exposed to various styles of writing and are also shown how the style is often determined by content and target audience.

How do you cool a building without air conditioning? By emulating the ingenuity of termites, Zimbabwean architect Mick Pearce used an approach called biomimicry to design a natural cooling system that harnessed nature. The result is an architectural marvel that achieves 90 percent passive climate control by taking cool air into the building at night and expelling heat throughout the day. In this first installation of the Decoder series, see how the Eastgate Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe utilizes a termite-inspired climate control system. "The Progressive Income Tax" is one of those economic terms that gets bandied about, but few actually know what it means or how it works. This tale of three similar brothers with three different incomes (but one shared expense) helps explain the tax system under which we live. Adapted from an article by noted investor and economist, Kip Hagopian, and narrated by actress Carolyn Hennesy of "General Hospital" and "True Blood" fame, this animated story will change the way you think about how you pay your taxes.  Donate today to PragerU! http://l.prageru.com/2ylo1Yt Joining PragerU is free! They were raised in the same home, with the same parents, had the same IQ, same skills and same opportunities. Each was married and had two children. They were all carpenters making $25 per hour. While they were very similar in all these respects, they had different priorities. For example, Tom, chose to work 20 hours per week, while his brother, Dick worked 40 hours and Harry 60. It should also be noted that Harry's wife worked full time as an office manager for a salary of $50,000. Dick's wife sold real estate part time 10 hours a week and made $25,000 per year. Tom's wife did not work. Tom and Dick spent all of their family income. Since they paid into Social Security they figured, they didn't need to save for retirement. Harry and his wife, on the other hand, had, over many years, put away money each month and invested it in stocks and bonds. Here's how it worked out: Tom made $25,000 a year, Dick and his wife made $75,000 and Harry and his wife, $150,000. When a new housing development opened up in their community, the brothers decided to buy equally-priced homes on the same private street. One day the brothers decided to pool their funds for the purpose of improving their street. Concerned about crime and safety, and wanting a more attractive setting for their homes, the three families decided to install a security gate at the street's entrance; repave the street's surface; and enhance the lighting and landscaping. The work was done for a total cost of $30,000. Harry assumed they would divide the bill three ways, each brother paying $10,000. But Tom and Dick objected. "Why should we pay the same as you?" they said. "You make much more money than we do." Harry was puzzled. "What does that have to do with anything?" he asked. "My family makes more money because my wife and I work long hours, and because we have saved some of the money we've earned to make additional money from investments. Why should we be penalized for that?" "Harry, you can work and save all you like" Tom countered. "But my wife and I want to enjoy ourselves now, not 25 years from now." "Fine, Tom. Do what you want. It's a free country. But why should I have to pay for that? "I can't believe your being so... unbrotherly," Tom argued. "You have a lot of money and I don't. I thought you'd be more generous." At this point, Dick, the peacemaker in the family, entered the conversation. "I've got an idea," Dick said. "Our combined income is $250,000, and $30,000 is 12 percent of that amount. Why don't we each pay that percentage of our income? Under that formula, Tom would pay $3,000, I would pay $9,000, and Harry would pay $18,000." "I have a much better idea," said Tom. "And one that's fairer than what you're proposing." For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/progressive-income-tax-tale-three-brothers

The shocking truth about cheap LED "corn cob" lamps

09:40
NOTE: CE does NOT mean China Export, it's just a mis-spaced CE logo (just like the one on the back of an Xbox 360). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking#China_Export Comments mentioning China Export will be marked as spam automatically, because it's horseshit. Commenters trying to use alternative characters to bypass the spam filter get muted from the entire channel. Based on feedback comments on my earlier video and a request from the folks at http://www.avforums.com/, this is a shorter test on a range of "corn cob" LED lamps available on eBay and Amazon. If you're thinking of buying cheap LED lamps, whether it be online or from the local market, this video is for you! Of the six "corn cob" style LED lamps tested here, only ONE could be considered safe to use. Watch the video, know what to look for in a safe bulb and know the risks associated with the dangerous ones! Some details left out of the video: At 50mA-100mA, ventricular fibrillation (very rapid uncoordinated contraction of the ventricles of the heart) is possible. Hand-to-hand body resistance of an adult lies between 1,000 and 4,000 ohms, depending on moisture, muscular structure and voltage. The average value is 2,100 ohms at 240V AC. (source: Basic Industrial Electricity: A Training and Maintenance Manual, Kenneth G. Oliver, p156) If your resistance at the lower end of the scale the current will be higher and the 100-200mA range is where you're at highest risk of fibrillation (and CPR won't fix fibrillation, you need a defibrillator for that). Apologies if some of it sounds a bit scripted, that's because it IS scripted to stop me rambling quite as much as usual, I'm trying to strike a balance between brevity and detail here, and it's tricky! If you want more information about what's inside the lamps, please take a look at my earlier video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3ci4... Not interested in corn cob lamps? Mains LED spotlamps are just as bad! Check out Julian Ilett's video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keaE7... Fasting Tips: 3 Best Foods to Break a Fast- Thomas DeLauer… Fasting for Health Purposes - Bone Broth Bone Broth Contains: Collagen: the main structural protein found within the human body that helps form connective tissue and “seals” the protective lining of the gastrointestinal tract. It’s also the gel-like, smooth structure that covers and holds our bones together, allowing us to glide and move freely. As a rich source of gelatin (breakdown of collagen), bone broth protects and seals the mucosal lining of the GI tract, which means it improves nutrient absorption. Proline: Helps the body break down proteins and helps improve skin elasticity and smoothness. It is often recommended for its benefits to the heart, including keeping arteries from stiffening. Glycine: Necessary for DNA and RNA synthesis and digestive health. It is used for the production of glutathione, for blood sugar regulation and digestion Glutamine: Glutamine has protective effects on intestinal mucosa by decreasing bacteremia and epithelial cell apoptosis, enhancing gut barrier function, and influencing gut immune response - glutamine can fight against bad gut flora by protecting against mucosal breakdown in the gut. Arginine: Beneficial for lowering inflammation and improving the health of the blood vessels and cardiovascular system - improves blood flow in people with clogged arteries Positively affects both central nervous system and immune system functions since in the brain NO (arginine converted to NO) acts as a neurotransmitter and protective agent against outside threats (4) Kettle and Fire Bone Broth also contains ACV. ACV has high concentrations of acetic acid. Like other acids, acetic acid can increase your body’s absorption of important minerals from the foods you eat. Also reduces glycemic and insulin responses to foods such as a starchy meal by delaying gastric emptying (5) Fasting for fat loss - MCT Oil: Most fatty acids depend upon bile salt emulsification in order to be metabolized and absorbed. MCTs have a slightly lower caloric effect than typical long-chain fatty acids (LCFA). LCFAs have 9 calories per gram while MCTs have about 8 calories per gram. Fatty acids produce energy in the mitochondria but are dependent upon the L-carnitine compound in order for entry. MCTs provide immediate energy because they are able to cross the double mitochondrial membrane very rapidly and do not require the presence of carnitine. Instead of being packaged into lipoproteins that circulate in the bloodstream, they are absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the portal vein, and are then transported to the liver (6) This is basically allowing your body to prime itself upon breaking a fast. MCT Study: One study found that consuming MCT oils helped reduce body fat and triglycerides more than omega 6 vegetable oils. After eight weeks, the experiment showed the MCT oil group lost more weight, body fat, and subcutaneous fat, all while experiencing a 15 percent drop in triglycerides (7) Breaking a fast for muscle building while staying lean (higher glycemic carbs) Using the GI of carbs is a technique most commonly used to regulate blood glucose and insulin concentrations to optimize athletic performance/physique building. You should break your fast with high GI carbs but avoid combining these with fatty foods - fat slows down transit through the stomach, so eating fat post fast may slow the digestion and absorption of carbs. This is due to a slowdown in gastric emptying – the rate at which food passes from the stomach into the intestines, where the nutrients (such as glucose) are absorbed into the bloodstream (8) References: 1) Fasting enhances growth hormone secretion and amplifies the complex rhythms of growth hormone secretion in man.
