So you wanna start a lifestyle brand? First off what is a lifestyle brand? Lifestyle brand seems to be the buzz word for 2017 and 2018. A lifestyle brand is simply a brand which heavily identifies with a particular lifestyle, sub-culture, or niche and one which embodies that lifestyle. These days lifestyle brand seems to be a print on demand Shopify store someone threw together about weightlifting, vandwelling, or surfing. In reality a lifestyle brand is typically just a brand which embeds itself in and really embodies a particular lifestyle. In this video I mention a Youtube video I was watching where a guy was talking about how Justin Boots, the western wear and boot company, and how they do a fantastic job of selling not just boots, but selling the Cowboy lifestyle. You can watch the video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDtA9cMcOnE Some other lifestyle brands are Raw the rolling paper company, Redbull, etc, etc, etc. Gary Vee famously says in this day and age every company is a media company and in a way every company is a lifestyle brand. How well you can make your brand be associated with and embody a lifestyle has a lot to do with how successful your company is going to be. One problem I see with lifestyle brands is it's the fad of the day. I see a lot of people going into the lifestyle brand business not because they have a great idea. Not because they are passionate about the lifestyle or even marketing, but because it's what everyone online is telling them to do and because it's cool to be a CEO or a "Founder." In this video I talk about and give an example of a dude I recently talked to who is starting a lifestyle brand despite not really having a lifestyle in mind, not having any experience, and not even really enjoying marketing. I tried explaining to him that I think way too many people are getting into a handful of businesses not because it's the right fit, but because it's the thing to do. This includes things like Ali Express Dropshipping, Shopify Stores, and you guessed it...lifestyle brands. I'm curious to hear from you guys. Have any of you guys started a lifestyle brand? Was it a success? What was your experience like? Drop a comment below and tell us about it...

Before anyone can do business with you, they need to know that you exist. Here's 5 brand awareness strategies you can use to get your business noticed! If this is your first time visiting this channel, thank you and welcome. If you'd like to learn more about brand building, marketing strategy and marketing automation, hit that subscribe button for more videos just like this one. So, brand awareness, what does that mean? For people to be able to do business with you, they first need to know that you exist. Number one, influencer marketing. Find websites, bloggers, YouTubers, fan pages, that speak to the same audience that you do, and build a relationship. So one example, Casey Neistat, 9.4 million subscribers. "Francine only watches kids' shows that are in Spanish, so I tweeted that it's hard to find kids' shows in Spanish on Netflix. Veronica works for a Spanish kids show and sent Francine all this. Veronica, thank you." - Casey Neistat Notice how Veronica was being human and authentic, and how she wasn't salesy and sleazy? Being authentic is vital. Veronica now has her foot in the door because she listened. Collaboration is everything online. Similar to influencer marketing, joint ventures also involve engaging with brands with similar target audiences. Think about win-win situation like mail exchanging. If you had a similar amount of newsletter subscribers, you could do email exchange. When your featured on their newsletter and you feature them on yours. Hosting joint events. If you have similar audiences, hosting events together could save on a lot of costs as events can get really costly at the end of the day. One example might be a protein powder manufacturer and a local gym partnering up to host an event together. Public relations. The job of the PR agency as opposed to an advertising agency is that a PR agency gets you exposure in the form of editorial, being published on blogs, news websites, on YouTube channels. This is known as earned media or free media. A stronger corporate image can boost your stock price by up to six percent. The same logic can be applied to startups looking for investors. If you had six percent increase in investors saying yes, would you take that? Another example, do you guys know Dragon's Den? It's a show where entrepreneurs have three minutes to pitch their ideas to five multi-millionaires who then have opportunity to invest their own money into the business. So a lot of the times these entrepreneurs get massive offers just to the shock of the world when they decline it. And at the end of the day, the objective was not to get funding from investors, but to rather get the PR that appearing on the show would give. Being controversial. Nothing better than controversy to get your brand noticed. Let me show you the best example that I could find about being controversial. Excerpt from ad example: "So, how do you make the world believe your poop doesn't stink? Or in fact that you never poop at all? Poo-pourri. Poo-pourri is the before you go toilet spray that has proven to trap those embarrassing odors at the source, and save relationships." And the final point that I have, affiliate marketing. Getting others to sell your product and giving them a commission for sale is a great way of driving awareness and sales. You can either create your own affiliate program by using tools like SamCart, or you can partner up with an affiliate network and let them help you with the technical aspect. Regardless, getting these people to sell your products is gold. Thank you so much for watching today. If you like this video, please hit that subscribe button for more videos just like this one. And until the next time, ciao for now.

There are a total of fifty-seven brand haikus. Each one of the haikus is approximately sixty words. Taken individually, each haiku describes how to build and sustain a brand; how customers think, behave, and choose a brand. Considered collectively, the fifty-seven haikus convey the authority, competitive advantage, and value of owning a strong and favorable brand. Do you have an incredible service or product but for some reason, your sales are too low or margins too tight? Are you launching a new brand or sub-brand to market, rebranding or revitalising your brand but you're not sure where to start to ensure a profitable return on your investment, growth in market share and increased sales? Have you already got a well-established brand and you're considering expanding into a new category or market sector but you haven't yet got clarity on where your opportunities for innovation and growth lie versus the competition? Would you like your brand to have far greater visibility, credibility, likability — to stand out head and shoulders above your competitors with the pulling power that attracts your ideal customers in droves and converts them into repeat purchasers and your perfect brand advocates? One of the top reasons businesses fail is because they don't build a strong brand even though they invest in a good logo, website and brochures. If you want to increase your sales you need to invest in your branding strategy which goes way beyond just design. Your logo, website and brochures are not your brand because they are merely the visual identifiers or badges associated with your product or service. In fact, branding is NOT marketing or design but the bedrock foundation underpinning your whole business so getting your brand strategy right is critical to your success. So if you want to accelerate your brand's success and increase your visibility, credibility, lovability and sales then the Persona Branding Accelerator Masterclass is the perfect solution for you because during this masterclass we address: 1. The fundamentals of what makes up a strong brand using big-brand know-how, what branding is and isn't and how to build a strong brand — we also demystify all the misinformation around branding and give you the facts so you can implement these critical strategies in your business. 2. Brand positioning is used by all the most successful brands in the world, small and large because its one of the most effective ways to become a market and industry leader. 3. The personality of your brand determines the relationship your customer has with your brand so that when that connection is a well a developed, emotional one, it drives referral and repeat purchase and so increases sales. So we focus on how to build your brand's personality to stand out. 4. We also focus on brand purpose. Why is brand purpose so critical to your success? Because people don't buy what you do. They buy why you do it. So when you're clear on your brand purpose, it acts as the overall steering mechanism for the business. 5. And because every brand, small and large, needs regular health checks to ensure peak performance, maintain market relevance and high visibility so you can increase perceived value, command a premium and continue to grow and increase sales we look at brand audits, what they are, what they typically entail and how to leverage them. 6. No brand is immune to change, it's merely a matter of when because your brand will need some level of change in its life-cycle to remain commercially viable and successful so we also focus on how to rebrand or refresh your brand successfully. Join me at the Persona Branding Accelerator Masterclass to unlock the exact systems and processes used to build standout brands with big-brand know-how. This Masterclass is perfect for you if: • You're a business leader, owner, manager, entrepreneur or consultant • You've already achieved a certain level of growth and you want to build a stronger standout brand • Want to be perceived to be more valuable so you can command a premium • Want to stop selling at low prices or discounting • Want to scale, grow faster, increase visibility, credibility and sales The focus is on brand strategy as the bedrock foundation underpinning your business, not design, so this Masterclass is all about discovering and leveraging big-brand know-how using the Persona Brand Building Blueprint™ System. The Persona Brand Building Blueprint™ System is also used on The Economist group platform so it's been independently validated. At the end of this Branding Accelerator Masterclass, you'll have invaluable systems and processes enabling you to build a much stronger, profitable, more visible, credible and sustainable standout brand. Everyone talks about strategy. What is strategy? What is OGSM? This is a very interesting piece that I would like to talk to you about, uhm; I think from the young management graduate to the MD, everyone talks about it. This is about strategy. What is strategy? [Thinking]... After 25 odd years of corporate experience, I'll give you my definition of strategy. What really is strategy? Actually whether it's across organizations, bollywood, cricket, while you're playing, you're in a war, everyone talks strategy. Often times, not understanding really what we mean by strategy; everyone is trying to be strategic. So I always tell people that I've learned a long time ago, a very interesting corporate guidance matrix which we used to call as OGSM. So, whenever we talk about strategy, I talk about this OGSM. So, any organisation, company, brand or business must have an OGSM- Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures. Once you understand this, then you'll really get what the definition of strategy is. So what is Objective? Every organisation has a particular objective, a goal or a purpose. So that is the overall objective of the organisation or of a department or of a business. Then you can actually break this overall objective into goals. So suppose the objective of an organisation is to become the largest collection wallet or "paywallet" in the country, then you actually put it into goals so that the goal would be, okay, I want to ensure I want to increase market share from present 5 percent to 50 percent. Or I want to increase the market size from 2 million to 100 million and want to be 50 percent of it. So that is the goal. Goals usually should be very SMART- Specific Measurable Action-oriented Result-oriented Target-oriented. Then comes, strategies, which is what are the various things you'll do as a business, as a businessman, as an organisation to achieve those goals. What are measures? The last one is Measures, which is, can you set metrics and measures for those strategies and those goals. So the moment you understand the concept of OGSM, it becomes easier to understand what a strategy is. What is a strategy? A strategy really is anything which helps you to go towards your goal and that's your main definition of strategy. We also need to differentiate between strategies and tactics. Something which is done in the short term and sometimes not for too many times is really a tactics. On the other hand, something which you'll do in the long term and something which will determine the nature of your business and how you were doing is determined as a strategy. So this is again the difference between strategies and tactics. And, frankly, strategies can operate at an organisational level, it can happen at people level, it can happen in the sales marketing function, where, often times you keep on saying marketing strategies, what is to be done; we need to launch a new brand or we need to work with an existing brand, how we reposition the brand and what is the repositioning strategy, do we take it premium, non premium. So actually marketing people use the word strategies quite a lot, but frankly, strategies are applicable for all functions. Whether it is marketing, logistics, supply chain. Supply chain can have a great strategic thing. Do you want to manufacture something in the state, in the country, outside the country, do you want to buy, do you have it contracted, sub-contracted, manufacture it yourself? Similarly, on the people's front, it can be like do you want to outsource it, in source it, what kind of people do you want to include? That in itself is a strategy. So, a very interesting one, I thought I would give you an initial intro or my thoughts on what is a definition of a strategy and many more sessions I would like to hear from you and I'm happy to do a few more sessions. Thank you. For more such interesting info, do check out my website- http://www.peshwaacharya.com

Time for us to move on from copy strategies. My daughter follows our classes and says she has had enough of theory. She is of course right. Marketers are not here to study, we’re here to work and add value to brands. Time to put our copy strategy to work. Time to intervene in the life of a brand – sustain it - nourish it – enrich it. Easier said than done. Over there in Silicon Valley, the brand managers are big hitters. Bill Gates at Microsoft. Elon Musk at Tesla. Larry Page and Sergei Bryn at Google, YouTube and Android. Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook. These brand owners don’t give up on the brands they have created. How do we put a copy strategy to work when the brand is managed way above our paygrade? Curiously enough the question if you work for a global giant isn’t so different from the question you may be asking in a mid-size organisation or indeed your local pygmy. Brands are everywhere - not just to be found in big commercial firms - the WWF is a brand, the National Trust is a brand, the Lib Dem party is a brand. NASA is a brand. The NHS is a brand as is each of its hospitals and as is my local Indian Restaurant. (It’s called Sachins by the way and its tastes are to die for). Without fail there is someone else above your paygrade in charge of every one. But that doesn’t matter. You’re not going to take control overnight. Indeed, you never will have total control. I must have managed over 50 brands in my career and I didn’t have near total control of one of them. But I made a difference to every brand’s life. I helped make brands live better and longer. That was really worthwhile. That is what you can do and that is what you are going to do. Let’s go for it. First of course you have to pick your brand. Not your company - unless your company is the local restaurant or has one brand like McDonald’s - and I would suggest you don’t pick McDonald’s – I’ve tried and got nowhere. Make sure your brand is within your sphere of influence. And that it is manageable for you – if you work for Alphabet don’t pick Google or YouTube - too big a bite - pick a sub brand if you can – Google Fiber, YouTube TV etc. If you work for Samsung pick Samsung Galaxy Note not Samsung Write your copy strategy on the lines we have set out in classes - and then – quickly pick a slogan, a claim, a mantra - it has many names but whatever you call it be sure to get it. We’ll call it a slogan. Whatever its name, it summarises your copy strategy for your customers in a short, memorable, provocative but credible way. If there is a slogan already written, pick it up. Until you are a great copy writer you ideally don't want to write one yourself. But if there isn’t one write it - you need it - NOW. Well talk about slogans in the next class.

Get your free Author 2.0 Blueprint at: http://www.TheCreativePenn.com/blueprint In this discussion with author and PR professional Trevor Young, we discuss personal branding, content marketing and social media as well as some of the personality attributes necessary to building a business online. Trevor is the author of MicroDomination: How to leverage social media and content marketing to build a mini business empire around your personal brand. Trevor Young is an author, speaker, consultant and start-up entrepreneur. His new book is MicroDomination: How to leverage social media and content marketing to build a mini business empire around your personal brand. We mention the awesome sub-title containing multiple keywords which can help with book sales, especially for non-fiction. Trevor started as a journalist and later moved into PR and publicity. He ran his own agency and worked with large global clients as well as individuals. Trevor started blogging in 2007 and immersed himself into the new world and this has morphed into a business where he is an author, professional speaker and consultant. We talk about both of our lives have changed since Trevor was first on the show a few years ago. What is a micro-maven? Malcolm Gladwell popularized the word 'maven' and it's really someone who becomes a trusted expert in a field. Trevor uses the term to encompass creative entrepreneurs leveraging the internet to build a platform. Once they build a reputation, they build a sustainable business with multiple streams of income so they can follow the lifestyle they choose. Develop platform, build your brand, build your business, live your dream. On personal branding. You have a brand whether you like it or not. It's how people perceive you. It's what people say about you when you're not in the room. It's their experience of you. You have a chance to control that by actively choosing the way you portray yourself online. Be consistent e.g. use the same professional photo, color scheme. Be authentic as you need to live your brand. If you want to be considered helpful, then you can't rant like a crazy person on Twitter. People will judge you by what you portray, so make sure you do it well. Content marketing vs social media marketing Content marketing is about earning attention with quality, original information -- it could be an article, podcast or video. It's to demonstrate your expertise, help customers and be a thought leader. It's designed to help/inspire/entertain your specific target market and get their attention so they can find you. This is one of the main ways that people are demonstrating expertise online now. Social media encompasses the tools for sharing your content, but also sharing other people's content, communicating, commenting, getting to know people, participating on the social web. The two aspects work in tandem - 'content is the fire, social media is gasoline' [Jay Baer] It's important to own your own content and ensure you don't build on someone else's platform, otherwise they could change the rules. Use the tools to share discussions about your original work. It all takes time and effort to create great content. Over time, this is what separates the pros from the amateurs. I mention how many of the feeds I follow have gone dead in the last few years as people have dropped away. The initial phase is the hardest and it takes a while to get going. Trevor mentions Chris Brogan in particular who started slow but now has a huge global profile and multiple businesses under his brand. Many of these mavens have book deals based on their platforms. Trevor also talks about what he's doing on social media as well as blogging, giving the book to influential people and contacts he has made over time, plus he's about to start a media campaign. He does has a publicist for a few weeks from Wiley.

Read how emotional marketing is used to create strong customer connections by liquor brands at the emotional marketing blog at: http://602communications.com/site/?p=8293 You will still see a few feature-focused ads like Jameson Whiskey that highlight the quality of the ingredients and the patient distilling, but this Smirnoff ad is more typical. It shows off the cleverness and cunning of the drinker, not the drink.

One of the best exercises for you to do is make a list of companies or businesses that you go back to over and over and over again, and ask yourself why. On the left, list five companies you return to again and again, and on the right write the reason for doing so. For instance, on the left write, "I go to this restaurant at least once a week" and on the right write, "I go there because _____________." The thing that goes into the blank is generally one of these six reasons. They will give you a lot of clues for your own business. #1: Fast - 0:38 #2: Quality - 0:49 #3: Cheap - 0:57 #4: Luxury - 1:10 #5: User Friendly - 1:23 #6: Customer Service - 1:38 Subscribe to the channel: http://www.youtube.com/valuetainment?... Signing onto sustainability principles are less the issue than the successful integration of these principles into daily operations, says Levine of Epstein, Becker, & Green. The important consideration for companies, he says, is "Are you prepared to address sub-standard conditions?" This was part of the Carnegie Council event "Sustainable Branding: A U.S.-Japan Corporate Dialogue" that took place on September 17, 2009.

Leadership Strategies Head over to: http://www.joniyoung.com/tv07/ and leave your comments we would love to hear from you Today is the day we will cover Strategic Planning, this can apply in your business and life. What is Strategic Planning? Here’s the definition… It is a process initiated by an ENTITY to establish a PLAN for accomplishment of the overall GOALS. Are you bored yet? I know I am. Ok. Let’s break this down and make it more fun and simple. There are 3 main elements to any strategic plan: #1 is YOU. You are the entity, aka the leader. #2 is the PLAN. #3 is the GOAL. So you always want to start with the goal, which in essence, is the BIG PICTURE. What is the end game that you want to achieve? Work on this for as long as it takes until you get clarity. When you are crystal clear on your expected outcome, you will be able to lead yourself and your team while sailing through the ups and downs. Once you come up with a clear big picture, then you reverse engineer it to map out the step by step master plan. Doing this will help you create a path and ensure that you always have a point of FOCUS. It is normal to encounter other enticing opportunities during your success journey. But you got to stay focused on your Big Picture. You and Your team depend on You to get to the end game. In my previous company, we grew very fast when we first started out. We were getting a lot of recognition among the trade and sales kept rolling in. One day, one of the “Big Players” within the industry approached me and proposed to partner up. They were a very well known and respected company within our region, which was California and neighboring states. The benefits seemed very attractive… Our Brand would get immediately recognized as a prestigious name, and They had more distribution centers which would allow us to increase our sales volume instantly. The draw backs were… They also carried hundreds of other brands and we’d become one of the sub-brands under their umbrella; and Their company mission was different from ours. They’ve been a successful regional distributor for several decades and were happy to stay that way. Our vision was to build an international distribution and become a reputable brand name. Although the census were equally split during my decision making process, I chose to decline the offer to follow the path that aligned with our Big Picture. 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ VANS : Electric Strategy l Press COnference (GER/ENG). Mercedes-Benz Vans plans to offer all its commercial van model lines with electric drive. This will start with the mid-size eVito, which is now available to order, with deliveries commencing in the second half of 2018. Further model ranges will follow, starting in 2019. The leading van manufacturer presented its holistic electric drive strategy at the [email protected] workshop in Berlin. The focus was not just on the electric van itself, but also on a technological ecosystem tailored specifically to customers’ business needs. A holistic strategy based on five cornerstones delivers an innovative total-system solution covering the entire value chain of commercial usage. In order to meet this goal, customer co-creation plays a central role in product development, integrating the strategic partner and their industry expertise into the development process. The new eVito is the first production vehicle to have been developed using this strategic approach.
