Nick S i used the gillete fusion, but I didn't put enough shaving cream
Nick S (6 months ago)
What kind of razor was that you used?
77enchantedboss (6 months ago)
thanks mate great tips
fyi you applied the cream wrong with the brush .. you create the lather in a cup yes but then you take the brush between your index and middle fingers in a scissor fashion and slide your fingers to the end of the brush bristles pulling the lather cream from the brush onto your fingers and then apply the lather cream to your face... you get more of the lather cream from the brush this way
Hoel Magnien (3 months ago)
No ever teached me how to do it I didn't even use any cream This channel is saving me as im SOON ADULT aaaa
CodeRedAREA86 (3 months ago)
I used many different brands of razors and creams and I still can’t get a clean cut. Every time I shave I have light stubs sticking out of my face and I need help with getting a better shave. Any thoughts?
Rock C (3 months ago)
I thought you said shaving over the same areas you already shaved is bad cause of irritation
NOOT NOOT (4 months ago)
Lol that was the poorest lather I have ever seen (thin and dry as paper^^). You can do that far better.
Jason Donnelly (4 months ago)
Hey Antonio! I'm shipping off for Army Basic Training in 3 weeks and I want to know what the best razor to bring to boot camp is. You were in the Marine Corp. so you are the perfect person to ask this question. Thanks!

Why do people use Shaving Products? Do a video on That. I am 50 and got tired of stupid shaving cream when I was 15. For the past 35 years I Only shave with a dry face - it's 1) easier, 2) shaves closer, 3) no razor slip, 4) It's faster.

Great video, but Aftershave doesn't need to be 'natural' (whatever that means) to be good
Jonathan Cutting (5 months ago)
Alternative method: just wear a well-groomed beard. No daily shaving necessary!
xXiloveXx (5 months ago)
idk why everyone makes a big deal out of shaving against the grain, I've been doing it for a long time, gets a super close shave. I could understand for people who have sensitive skin being an issue, but for me it's all good. You might cut yourself if you're not careful though, since it's a weird angle
Michael Pimentel (5 months ago)
I have been shaving since I was 13. I usually get the 5 o’clock shadow around 2:15. This really helped since no one every really showed me how to shave properly. Thank you Sir.
Thank you Antonio, you helped change my life for the better.

Please do this video again with a straight razor. Just had my great grandfather's razor refurbished and it's the nicest smoothest shave I've ever had. Takes practice though but is a truly unique shave.

makes sense that using a brush to lather up your face raises the hairs up. its less messy too if you use a brush...i am too lazy to buy one. also rinsing with cold water to close your pores is also handy. probably cuts down on pimples (infections underneath the skin). I shave every 2 or 3 days now...its too frequent for me to really take the time to do a "proper shave", but these are some handy tips. thanks for the video Antonio.
Robert Allen (6 months ago)
Another good informative video. Your lather was was terrible and not worth shaving with Antonio.

Greg Walker (6 months ago)
shave with noxzema... do not have to use aftershave or pre whatever... and use COLD water while rinsing your razor... it contracts the blade making it sharper.
Greg Walker (5 months ago)
well then you rock on with those million dollar blades brah!
Jonathan Cutting (5 months ago)
Cold water won't contract your blade to make it sharper. Razor blades (quality ones worth buying, anyway) are made of hardened steel, which will not change size or shape significantly under the temperature differences of hot and cold water.

Hey, Captain did your DI going through OCS teach you to shave against the grain right off the bat? I had a former Marine DI as our Platoon advisor in ROTC that did and that is the way I have been shaving for the past 40 years. What is the purpose of going with the grain if you can get closer shave going against the grain first time? Just an old crusty LTC trying to understand. Semper Fi Marine.
Andrew (6 months ago)
Please master your lathering technique and how you apply it before repurposing old material. It's a disservice to your viewers.

Aaron Armendariz (6 months ago)
What shaver are you using?
ericmittens (6 months ago)
I believe in taking care of myself, a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
ericmittens (6 months ago)
Thanks Antonio! Though I'll admit it's not original. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjKNbfA64EE

Personally, I find that using a good soap in the shower works as a DECENT "cream" I'm not big on splurging for these sort of grooming things. Irish Spring to the rescue! But I can see the attraction to these methods, if you have the money and time for it. I go a whole lot more slowly, and precisely when I have something important to look nice for, i.e concerts, interviews, going to a nice restaurant. One issue I find with these videos, and acknowledge is a choice of Antonio's, is that he really focuses on the high-tier fashion, without really suggesting any sort of substitutes. I love them all because they give a good basis on what to do. Personally, and I'm sure I'm not alone, I'd enjoy seeing him explain some not so expensive methods of looking good. Finding out that a good-enough lather can be made from the soap I use to wash myself is one thing I like to share, because I hear people moan and groan about the expense of high quality shaving creams, even the low-grade stuff can get expensive! So some everyday substitutes would be greatly appreciated, but I can preach, when you NEED to be as presentable as possible, follow his teachings. -A Frugal Fan.

I would shave if it wasn't for the fact that i get mistaken for a chick while clean shaven.
American Paisa (6 months ago)
I prefer shaving oil over shaving cream. With shaving oil you can glide a razor blade across your face at 30mph and still go with out a single cut to your face. I’m exaggerating on the MPH but you get the point.
American Paisa (6 months ago)
Real Men Real Style I alternate between Joe Grooming Shave Oil priced around $20 and American Crew Ultra Gliding Shave Oil priced around $10. Personally I have a preference for the Joe Grooming Brand product.

Yes! Unless beard. Then start with trimmers
Chirag Madnani (6 months ago)
Which Razor do you use?
Real Men Real Style (6 months ago)
It depends --- what are you using now?
Fat_Strelok (6 months ago)
This is one perfect video right here. Personally I just use regular soap, a soft bristle brush if I wanna mess around, a safety razor and warm water, with pure alcohol (96%) for disinfection afterwards. But having a high quality shaving cream, good soap and a great aftershave (and a after moisturizer because alcohol dries up skin hard) is a lot better. Showering before you shave is godly for making your beard softer and easier to shave. Things to avoid are those disposable razors (multiple cuttings on same surface doesn't equal a closer or more quality shave) and not moisturizing even after using regular aftershave (most of them are alcohol based and will dry the hell out of you). Don't shave a dry beard, you're gonna bleed. And never ever use a blunt razor, you're gonna bleed. A sharp one cuts you up less, same with knives.

Antonio, I did want to ask a question. It's been almost two months since I last trimmed off my sideburns (I always trim). I didn't really have a beard before that, and neither am I getting past some very thick sideburns, a stache and a chin stub. Should I shave my whole face with a razor or should I wait longer?
Broth3r John (6 months ago)
Coconut oil makes for a great after shave and is very beneficial for skin
CosmiCandy (6 months ago)
What science in it? I think everyone does that way nothing new shared. Still a great video.
